SEATING CAPACITY
NOW AT AUDITORIUM
. The seating capacity of the' New
City ■ Auditorium, where the Mercer
and Lanier basketball teams play
their games, has been greatly increas
ed by the addition of seats sim
ilar- to the reserved seats used by
circus shows. With the addition,
crowds cannot become too large to be
satisfactorily cared for.
One section is reserved for the Mer
cer students, it being, directly be
hind the goal on.the right side as you
enter the Auditorium. This section
is sixteen feet longer than the one
on the opposite side .which is for gen
eral admission. This extra length
gives ample, room for the band to be
seated with the students.
On the stage there is a small re
served- section. Immediately in front
; of the stage there are several rows of
seats used as reserved ones. On the
opposite side of the court, the one
nearest; the door where you enter,
there is a reserve section capable of
taking care of nearly 600 people..
Scattered around in different cor
ne/s are other small sections of seats,
giving to the inside of the Auditorium
where the court is situated an amphi
theater appearance.
Special rates are; given to those
Students' who are dn good enough
terms with members of the fair sex to
carry them to the-games; They can
get their tickets in. the seventy-five
cents section but must engage, these
tickets from the proper authorities
on the campus sometime before the
games in order that a rush may be

FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE RULES
.PRACTICING AT B. T. C.
It’s time to go to practice; ■'
1 must hurry—not be late—
And should I dare to cut, well, then,
“A non.” will be my fate, ■
I go into a practice room; ,
My brain is in a twirl.
And suddenly a notion comes
To see another girl.
Then quickly in comes Inez Shaw,
“What are you doing here?”
“Oh, I just came to see the time,”,-
With -a -feeling kind of queer.
“Don’t let me find you here again;
Tie tiro more minutes yet.”
I then go back to my practice room,
Tho’ much to .my regret.
She goes into the room beyond,
And there beholds a Sight-
Two girls at one piano
Play "rag” with all their might.
1 try in vain a Scale to play;
My fingers will not work,
' For in this practice room, I 'feel
That evil spirits lurk.
