Of course this, is not counting our

Dicks entertained us very, little, with
his atagiai until after being threatened
with, death by. Mr. Smart when he
quieted down a little.
When we wblce up we had arrived
in Savannah. On our sight-seeing tour
Harold MeCart saw enough for ten
teams, and wanted more. We saw all
the old houses for which Savannah is
so noted, where such and such men
did so add so things at such and such
times)
In the evening, before the game We
were a)l sitting in the lobby of the ho

singing drew a number of people from

My only MoUy:
The first thing that'we heard as we
walked into the hotel here, was some,
one paging Mr. Green. It all turned
out that a certain member of the team
had run around to the back entrance
and had hired the bell-boy to page the

only trouble was that “Bobber”
Owens continually got on the wrong
. side of ' the court. He played every
position possible and sometimes he
played three at once. .
Part of the team had rooms over the
others. We weru on the top floor,
right opposite some of the singers of
the Grand Opera. One of the girls
started singing and (Japtain Green
started out to contest her in her own
field, i Captain Green won and he now

A certain freshman at last has for
saken the ranks’ of the woman ha tars.
Now he affirms himself as aligned
with the shielriest of the Merfcer shieks.
It all happened last Sunday night when
he accompanied Brbedus Motes down
to hear one of Dr. Owen’s edifying
lectures On love, home, and'marriage.
While there some friend introduced
him to “the girl". Although qttr hero
had never had a date with a girl in his
whole life, thir girl, was so different,
so overpowering in her appeal‘to him
that he finally auedumbed and asked
b^r for e date. Coyly she acquiesced.
The freshman considered himself in
deed fortunate
Since having a date was so novel an
experience to oar subject, Motes
though best to accompany him. So
after the sermon, *the two. Lotharios
gallantly escorted the young lady to
her, home. Upon arriving there it was
found that she is so popular that she
keeps s register in which all boys who
visit her write their names and some
nice remark, concerning her. Motes
and the. dear frosh did this, under their
names expressing in glowing terms
their high regard for herl
At first he, made no advances, due
to', inexperience. It wasn’t long how
ever until her irresistible charm over
came his timidity, so he gently took
one ,0/ her hands into his own. The
maiden squeezed it with delight, and
leaning her curly head On his shoulder
for s moment, she sweetly whispered
into the happy youth’s ear: “I 1-i-k-e
you!” Our hero blushed furiously,-ex
ceslively embarrassed.
AU moments of superlative rapture
are accompanied by a closing of the
eyes. Therefore, in these moments of
rapture, he never opened his eyes—
and who can rebuke him? He was per
fcctly content to sit by her side, hold
ing one of her hands softly within his
and having his qnm interlocked
within hers.
Promptly at eleven the sweet and
modest young lady bade her .guests
goodnight, holding the freshie’s hand
for several moments, alternately
squeezing and caressing it, as she told
him to be sure to come to, see her
again .very, very aoon. He now had
fallen desperately, hopelessly in love
Since then hia eloquence in describing
the charms of this wonderful lady-love
has been unceasing.
It was noticed by many who saw the
pair of ga'lants immediately upon their
return from their date that Bntadus
smiled rather amusedly upon each oc
casion that the freshman so enthusias
tically extolled the virtue* of hia
sweetheart to the skies. Upon floser
examination it was also noted that
Broadus’ cheeks were dabbed with oc
caaional touches of crimson resemb
ling lip-stick, that his lips were quite
a deal redder than usual and that the
feft shoulder of his dark bine suit was
veritably saturated with a flesh-col
