granted a charter by Delta Sigma Pi
a national organisation March the. 5th,
the Mercer fraternity will be installed
March 26 as the Alpha Tau chapter.
Alpha Lambda Epailon waa founded
in -February, 1925. The ehartcr mem
bers were L»- J. Bowen, F. M. Gorm
ley, J. N. Minchin, and R. O. Smith.
The fraternity petitioned Delta Sigma
Pi a year ago this month and upon in
atallation the Alpha Tati chapter will
become the* 42nd chapter of Delta
Sigma Pi in the United States; the
mother chapter having been founded
at tiew York University September 7,
1907. There are (wo other chapters
in this state—one at the University
and another at the Ga. School of Tech
nology.
Members of the Tech and UnJverai-
ty of Ga. chapter* and also of the At
lanta alum ni chapter will attend the
installation exercises on the 26th of
this month. • Mr. ,H. G. Wright, of
Chicago, Grand Secretary of the
ganixation will be in Macon in charge
of the installation. The night of the
26th the fraternity will celebrate with
a banquet at the Dempsey Hotel on
which occasion Mr. Wright Dean

The Centennial Campaign of the
Alumni of Marear began in Columbus
last Saturday with the gift of $60,000
by Coin mho* Roberta, a prominent
business man and Baptist layman of
Columbua. This gift is a part of the
donattea which Mr. Roberts plans to
giro daring the campaign.
The ftmd of $60,006 is to be used for
the estaMlahiaent of a memorial pro
fessorship at Marear lit honor of two
labors of Mr. Roberts’ family,
George Crawford Roberts and Mary
Alie* Roberta. No decision has been
made yet aa to what department will
secure' the now professorship. The
matter, H is understood, will bo loft
entirely in the hands of Mr. Roberta,
the donor, aad the Centennial commit-

Twenty-five Aspirants Working
Out Daily Under Coach

The ‘Bear Diamond aspirant* -
slowly rounding into shape' as their
fourth week of practice comet to
close-. Nearly twenty-five ball tossers
Have been limbering up daily and this
week has seen them scooping, up
grounders and snagging hot liners like
big leaguers.
Coach Mosely has stationed hi* can
didates at the different positions and a
merry scramble is being held for
berths on the team. Captain Jim Tom
Bush is assisting the mentor in - the
practices.
The first game is only two weeks
off, being played with Mississippi A
A M. March 25, in Macon. The aeries
with Mississippi consist* of two. games
on successive day*. The strong Mich
igan State team then plays the Bears
on the next week. March 31. - The. Uni
versity of Georgia comes to Macon for
a two game series April 6-9. To date
there are seventeen, games on the Bear
schedule, games being played with
Oglethorpe, Florida, Notre Dame.

Tonight when the curtain rises at
the new city, auditorium, for the per
formance of the Glee. Club, there will
be many new features added to the
program.
Sitting in the audience as the guests
of the Club will, be the members of
(he original club organised twenty-one
years ago. This dub was termed
under the direction of Dr. G. L. Car
ver, now head of our science 'depart
ment. One of the members of this
original song aggregation was Coach
Parker E. Mosley, - athletic director
of the university. It is probable ’that
these men will be introduced to the
audience. .
