Chess Club
Holds Match
Mercer’s Chess Club, under the
faculty advisership of Dr. A. B.
Anthony, is now holding regular
meetings every Thursday evening
in the BSU Recreation Room of the
Co-op.
At last Thursday’s meeting, Joe
Chapman from the Macon Chess
Club came and played some of the
Mercer players. .Billy Lae, whom
“Doc” Anthony considers the most
improved member of the local club,
played Chapman.
“Doc" Anthony wants everyone
who is interesting in chess to come
to these meetings. At each meeting
there is a session of elementary
chess strategy, with “Doc” Anth
ony playing one of the new players,
and giving his reasons for making
the moves he makes.
