because It looks as thou*h nobody around here has been able to find
hide nor hair of them regardless of how hard they try.
It seems, however, that In spite of the rush some still find time
for romance. Those on the engaged list are: Ed Pruitt and Miriam
Haddock: Nell Evans and Nan Fugan; and Ray Crabtree and Lillian
Collins. Recently pinned are Ji>e Lowe and Janet Harvey, and Pauline
Strlbllng and Sidney "Hoss" Williams. Jane Law and Phillip Davis, who
was vlsitn* here last week end. are now *oln* steady, and married
are Maynard Chambers and June Smith.

Those welcomed to the Chi O suite were Pe**v Carlisle Neal, Jane
Carol Adams, Nan Fagan and Maxine Hunt. The Phi Delta are having
as their guest this week end Mother Montague who Is arriving from
Alamaba.
There was one who managed to "get away from it all" -and we
might add far away—Ronnie Williams left Monday to go to Germany.
When the lHat rush party Is over and the
pledges safely In the fold.
And the freshman have all been ratted and
know what places they hold.

of their choice.
The new Alpha Delta Pi pledges

After pledging the AliPi's and Chi
D's entertained their new pledges
with suppers held at Pinebrook Inn
while the Phi Mil's were treated
to supper at the home of Jackie
McNair. The mica's also enjoyed a
Dutch supper at the S & S Cafeteria.
SNU's Hold Circus Party
Sigma Nu will hold a "Circus
Party" this Saturday night in honor
of their rusbees. llacousfield Club
house will be the scene of this af
fair.

Is Ministerial Student

Twenty-one years ago to Reverend M. C. Gardner, pastor of Central
Baptist Church In Atnerlcus, and Mrs. M. C. Gardner was born a son
whom thqy named Milton Cook Gardner, Jr.
Milton was born In Albany, Geor
gia, but his stay in Albany was
rather short He moved to Cross
City, Florida, where lived for four
years. From Cross City Milton had
a two year stay In Ocala and like
wise In Delray Beach. After these
short stop, he settled In Americus,
Georgia, which has been his perma-
nent home for the past thirteen
years
Milton, a senior ministerial stu
dent at Mercer. Is the full time
pastor of Bethel Baptist Church In
Sumter County-
While maintaining a B average,
Milton finds time for many outside
activities. He Is a member of Sigma
Nu Fraternity, Blue Key, Chi Alpha
Omega ministerial fraternity .and
the Ministerial Association.
Milton sang In the Meicer Choir
for two years, was a member of the
lb-bate Team, and is currently vice-
pi evident of the student body, a
member of the Student Activities
Committee, und President of the
German Club.
Milton is quite active in sports
aiso. He participates in intramural
sports and played All-Star softball.
He was also elected “Toby” in ’54.
After graduation Milton plans to
enter Southern Seminary in Louis
ville. Kentucky. He will work to
ward a Mastcidegree and pos
sibly on to u Doctorate. Then he
will enter the ministry full time.
AJO Party at Jonesco
Jonesco was tne scene of the ATI)
rush parly last Friday night. The
rushees were invited to join the
"Chuck Wagon (Jang" and were
entertained with the music of the
Blue Stars.

Lambda Chi Has
Fall Rush Party
A former national Grand High
Epsilon of Lambda Chi, Pete, Tuck
er. was the main speaker at i-ambda
Chi’s fall rush party Saturday night.
The party, held at Baconsfleld
club house, saw Tom Glenn, former
president of Lambda Chi at Geor
gia, and Bill Smith, alumnus and
charter member of Zeta Omega,
among the brothers present.
Two laimbda Chls at Georgia
Tech, Walter Wilson and Harwich
Butler, also attended.
Kappa Sig's Have Supper
A stag spaghetti supper was held
last night at Porter-Ellls for the
Kappa Sigma rushees. Vernon
Hearn furnished the music for
dancing after the supper.
