The car, owned by Mimi Lanier,

The city of Macon began repairs

! The telegram, addressed to Con-

The Hungarians, in a hid for
freedom from Russian domination,
have resisted the Russian Army
Army and yesterday turned down a
demand by the Russians to lay
down their arms.
The die hard freedom fightera
answered the Russian deiaanda
by making a series of broadcast
appeals to the West to parachute
arma, ammunition, and medical
supplies into the nationalist
stronghold of Dunapentele. south
of Budapest.
Russian dominated Radio Buda
pest admitted for the first time
that revolutionaries had l*en bat
tling the Russians in the provinces.
It also broadcast a proclamation
by the Soviet controlled puppet
government saying the Hungarian
Communist party “is going through
the most difficult stage in its his
tory.” Street fighting is raging in
Hungary and all persons suspected
with the rebel movement are being
rounded up. It is likely that many
of these are th* university students
referred to in the telegram.
The Mercer BSU office announc
ed that a special prayer was said
for the Hungarian students in
