"I should like in conclusion to
remind you of something. In 1946
a bomb was exploded over Hiro
shima. In 1958 the Russians placed
a Sputnik in orbit around the earth.
Three years ago two men were sent
into outer space—this is to say, out
of this world—and year before last
both Colonel Glenn and Colonel
Carpenter orbited three times. Re
cently two Russians orbited it a

“These facts declare something
extraordinary. They declare that
those who inherit the earth, as the
Good Book says, may be meek, but
they also must be excellently edu

engaged in a cold one, which
Howard K. Smith says may be

game of chess. It will be won by
the aide which out-maneuvers, out-
plans, and out-thinks the other.
This complex game is taking place
on many planes, but its central
focus of struggle is in the rises
room. It is there that we shall

the forces of thsse times. It is there
that ws shall produce or fail to pro
