THE MERCBR CLUSTER
March 3, 1967
Chapter Leaks
E's View Holidays:
Beadies and Blondes
The Leo# had a party with the
ATO’s Friday at F O P. Lodge and
several unusual observance# were
made. First of all Mercer forward,
Steve Moody, an element of sur
prise personified, was seen eating
the decorations. Harry Moore, fu
gitive from the closet, had a date
(and on Saturday night too!). The
Geech was kicking while Bro.
Harper disappeared in the Gray
Ghost. The A-berg finds that for
parties the Geech’s back seat can't
be beat
One final observance of interest
wns that of PT-108 making tracks
for home as Clepper moved in on
Judy.
Tepo is pinned to Linda Allen
(hey Topper, how are things back
home?). Gerber feels bad that be is
the only batchelor in the apartment
now that Rut is pinned to Connie
Crow, but Bro. John Moore said
that he would try to act single as
was evident Friday night
As finals approach the brothers
begin to look forward to Spring
holidays and the beaches again.
One brother in particular, the
Greek, sees great hope in Spring
vacation as a chance to regain a
title which was lost last March in
Daytona to “The Eastman Flash.”
The big question is which one will
be sub-tabled first. Early forecasts
give the Greek slim odds.
Snakes Seek Dry(?)
Ground For Party
This past week-end proved very
successful for several Snakes:
Steve Binns pinned Nancy Smith;
Steve Voigt pinned Deby B.B.
Buck — after a couble of more
trips to F.S.U., Steve is liable to
came back engaged!
Thus far the Snakes have been
undefeated in volleyball, having
been victorious over MIMA, Kap
pa Sigma, SAE, and the peach-
fuzzed KA’s. Sigma Nu is looking
forward very much to this week
end with the annual pledge-brother
party being held on Saturday night.
The Snakes will probably get
“warmed up” on Friday night and
continue until Sunday morning —
no matter how cold it is. I’m sure
Jack Dozier will receive the “Safe
Driver’s Award’ ’this year — after
all — he's only had two wreck# in
the White Knight! However, I must
add that Ken Strassen is still a
strong contender — we'U have to
wait and see what happens over
the Spring Holidays.
This week’s “B.H.A.” went down
to the wire, but Charlie Whitaker
came roaring back to Mercer Sun
day afternoon with a lavalier in
his hand — Congratulations Char
lie !, you get this week's “Brown
Helmet Award.”

The KA’s trooping it to Gatlin-
burg were greeted with rain, no
now, and a deficient abundance of
dateless beauties, so they retired
to their chalets for lunch — molded
frankfurters. Brother Brenner did
profit from some instruction con
cerning Robin Hood; Brother Trask
interrupted some lady’s studying;
Brother Phillips struck out; and
Dancing Dave established his af
finity toward locked doors.
Meanwhile, at the FSU debate
tournament, Brother Tom Caut-
hom was racking up the honors:
Finalist in impromptu speaking,
novice division; member of the 1st
place novice team; and member of
the 1st place negative team, novice
division.
At Mercer, troop 69 scored two
out of two.

Cole was elected to be a member
of her court.
Some former Alpha Gams at
Mercer came back for a visit week

to see Nancy Fulcher Cooey, Nancy
De Ryke, and Jan Robinson back.
Ellen Guinn was a member of
the Mercer Junior Debate Team
that won first place at the Florida
State Tournament.

people who represented Mercer at
the Intercollegiate Bridge Tourna
