Intramural Ball; Stinging Losses
I F C Continues Touch
The flag-waving KA’a lost the

Delta ran over them by a
ire of 40-0. The Phi Delta ex
ited impressive defense action

a half of spirited play.
Surging forward from a comfor-
halftime margin of 13-0, the

Rebels Hit Hard By
Phi Delts, 40-0
each.
It seemed that a favorite tactic
with both sides was the long for
ward pass. As the score might indi
cate, the Phi Delta' pass receivers
had somewhat better luck than the
Rebels’ receivers.
Both sides were well supported
by a long line of ardent fans. Un
fortunately, the line was occasion
ally punctured by a stray player or
two. Neverthless each team’s fol
lowers remained unperturbed, fre
quently letting forth with lusty
yells.

A special I.F.C. meeting was
called this past Friday afternoon in
room 314 of the Student Center by
Jerry Stone, for the purpose of in
forming the fraternities and other
independent organizations on cam
pus of the rules and regulations
which will guide this year’s intra
mural football program.
Dean Hendricks opened with a
short address concerning the seri
ousness of the injuries which oc

was 13-0.
to hold meetings with their players
and other members stressing co
operation with the officials and to
cut down on heated arguments that
lead to fights. In this way he feels
that the injury rate can be cut in
half.
At this point, Dean Taylor took
the stand and presented the Col
lege’s point of view in the issue.
First, he hoped that all needless
injuries would cease; second, that
there was certain individuals who
would like to see the touch football
program eliminated; thirdly, he ex
pressed his approval of the activity,
as a major part of the social life on
this campus.
Furthermore, he cited the need
for more qualified officials and the
respect which they deserve on and
off the field. Finally, Jerry Stone,
advisor to the I.F.C., cleared up the
eonfliction in the rules numbers
5, 12, 19, 20, 23. (Shown below.)
He hopes that all the players be
come acquainted with them and
again stressed the respect for the
judgment of the official. In conclu
sion, the only way for the program
to survive is through good sports
manship and cooperation. This is
our last chance next year they
might throw the whole program
out. CO-OPERATE!
