Alpha Delta Pi is very happy
for past president, the former Ann
Stanford, who was married to Bill
Simmerman on December 28 in
Orlando, Florida. Congratulations

a former Mercer ADPi who was
married during the Christmas hol
idays. . Louise Domingos returned
from Christmas engaged to Derrri
Haxlehurst. Ginny Scherer, who
returned to New York for her last
years of college, came to Mercer
for the Christmas party and also
to toll everyone of her engage
ment Cathy Connell, having jpst
returned to Mercer this quarter,
was recently pinned to Greg Paul
ette, President of Kappa Sigma.

Sigma Nus first party of Winter
Quarter was held Saturday night
at Kraft Lake. Music was fur
nished by the nationally famous
(?) band, The American Kraft
Cheese, who played from their end
less list of hit tunes. And good
time was had by all.
Plans are already in the making
for an even more spectacular Open
House to be held at a yet undis
closed time Spring Quarter.

KAPPA ALPHA ORDER
Love blossomed in the Old
South for several KA couples dur
ing the Christmas holidays. Broth
er George Newbum took time out
from his hunting trips to become
engaged to Donna Vestal. Mar
riage bound Brother Sam Ramsey
to Karen Lewis of Augusta, Geor
gia. Twenty-one brothers packed
their merriment and carried it to
Orlando for the wedding of past
President, Bill Simmerman and
former Rose, Ann Stanford. Sur
vivors said everyone had a restful
experience.
The ole grubby beards will be
sprouting in the near future in
anticipation of Old South. The
beard race begins January 24 when

PHI DELTA THETA
Fall Quarter with Phi Delta
Theta was brought to an end with
2 great parties, one held at Kraft's
Lake at which members of about
four other fraternities on campus
visited. The other party was given
jointly with Sigma Nu at McKen
na Armory, the most indestructa
ble place the 2 groups could find.
On the sports scene, the cham
pionship forms of Mitchell Schwa
her, Pete Taylor, Scott Alden, and
Frank Jordan have taken the un
defeated Phi Delt tennis team to
a play-off with the Lawyers for
the first place trophy. The Phi
Delta look forward to a winning
most of their starters of last years
basketball teem this year with
runner-up team returning. Final
ly the latest report shows Gene
Wilson and Steve Dunn in a tie
for the Roll Over Beethoven
Award.
