Belloir has hit on 72 of 189 field goal at tempts and 24 of 32 free throws for a total of 168 points, and has played in all 9 games . Jud Roberts, 6-2 senior from Tampa, Fla., has played in all 9 games for the Bears. Roberts has hit on 73 of 160 field goal attempts and 23 of 36 free throws for a total of 169 points, which makes him tops on the Bean with an 184) Bruce Gordy . point per game average. He also leads the Bears in rebounds with 76. Doug Porter is perhaps better known as the “gentle giant" Hie 6-8 sophomore from St. Peters burg, Florida is without doubt the most improved Bear and is now losing some of that gentleness. He has hit on 6 of 11 field goals and 1 of 4 free throws while seeing lim ited action. Jim Hildebrandt, 6-6 sophomore from Evansville, Indiana, has seen plenty of action for the Bean this season and has the distinction of Marvin Bailey Jud Roberts having the biggest pair of hands on the squad. Jim Graham, a 6-4 sophomore from Ft Valley is fourth in total points with 76 and an 83 points per game average. He has hit on 30 of 61 field goal attempts and 16 of 33 free throws. Bruce Gordy, 6 ft freshman from Macon has moved into the third spot in scoring with a 10 point average, and has been a standout on defense for the Bears Tom Mitchell's field goal pushed the Bears ahead to stay at 67-66 with 10 minutes to go and the Bears started piling on their lead as Porter controlled the boards while Roberts and Bellior began hitting at a sizzling pace. In the Georgia State game, the Bears roared from behind in the second half as they held the Pan then scoreless for almost four min' utes and won 76-71. The State five saw their 11 point lead dwindle away as they were unable to find the range and the Bean were hit ting from all over the court. The contest was all Georgia State in the fint half but the Bean turned the tide on the Panther* for their third straight win. Porter who had been known more for his gentleness, came into the game with about 16 minutes to play and pulled down a gs high pf 11 rebounds. The big man gave the Bean the momentum they needed as they came from be hind a 34-32 half time score to out score their opponents by 20 points in the second half. The Bean had five men in dou ble figures, with spesdy Robert Belloir showing the way with 28 points. Jud Roberts poured in 17, while Marvin Bailey and Braes Gordy cashed in with 10 apises.
