The second half was no better for the snakes as ATO ran up its final margin of 30 points. Igniting the Tau’s attack was Stu Mervis who led the fast break time and again for 24 points, he was followed by Ronnie Bennett with 14 and Chester Pierce with 12. SN was led’ by freshman Jim Cole with 15 and Richard Jacobs with 10. The UA’s opened up with a close game in the second half and ran away from MIMA 56-43. The game had been close at the first but the fast UA’s opened up a substantial lead by the half. Led by Charlie Bowen's shooting and Steve Jackson on the bounds MIMA closed the margin to 4 points several times but finally the UA’s pressed too much and widened the gap. MIMA was led by Steve Jack- son and Charles Bowen each with 15 while the UA’s were paced by Andy Brumbach’s 18 and Lou Johnson's 13.
