SAE Celebrates
100th Anniversary
The Georgia Psi Chapter of
Sigma Alpha Epsilon observed
its 100th Anniversary on the
Mercer Campus on March 6
and 7. The weekend of events
was attended by over two
hundred alumni who will be
returning from all over the
United States to celebrate this
joyous occasion. The week
end's events began on Friday
afternoon at 5 PM with the
Registration of the alumni at
the SAE Lodge. On Friday
evening. Class Reuntons were
held at the Sheraton Motor
Inn which served as our Cen
tennial Headquarters Saturday
morning, at 9 AM a .9 hole
golf tournament will be held
at the Oak Haven Golf
Course. A Stag Luncheon fol
lowed the Golf Tournament at
the Dutch Pantry Restaurant.
At the luncheon, prizes were
awarded for the golf tourna
ment and the awards to the
Oldest alumni in attendance
was given. In addition we hon
or the alumni who has trav
eled the farthest, the class
with the largest repiesentatign
and the alumni who has pro
duced the. most offspring!
While -the brothers enjoyed
the Stag Luncheon the ladies
attended a luncheon and fa
shion show which was hosted
by the Little Sisters and the
Mothers of Minerva. The high
light of the afternoon was the
initiation of our Centennial
Pledge Class, with our Nation
al President Paul It. Jacob, Jr.
presiding Following the initia
tion. a cocktail party was
hosted by the Macon Alumni
at the Elks Club. The week
end was highlighted bv the
Centennial Banquet and Halt
to la- held at the Idle flour

of our alumni at the banquet.
Including fifteen brothers who
have been initiated for fifty
years The brothers also pre
pared a program on “Our
1000 Years , in SAE" which
was presented at the banquet.
The highlight of the weekend
was ait address by our Nation
al President which concluded
the banquet.
The Chapter has received
Proclaimations from Governor
Lester Maddox and Mayor
Ronnie Thompson.' officially
declaring I he weekend of
March B through 8 as Sigma
.Alpha Epsilon Weekend in the
State of Georgia and the City
of Macon respectively. It

weekend for all those who re

dren worked all day Saturday,

Center was used for tuforing
