The Dean’s office seems ready to
assume their responsiblity and begin
some concrete action on this project.
Dean Godpey is enthusiastic and eager to
begin serious planning and financing
efforts. Very soon now, the planning
process should produce a committee
mandated to study the project and to
accrue funds for it. Furthermore, within “
the next eeveral weeks, Dean Godsey is
planning to attapd an SGA meeting to
address student questions ibout the
sports complex or anything else
pertaining to the college of liberal Arta.
A set date for his appearance will be
noted in an upcoming edition of the SGA
minutes. Like any meeting, this meeting
will be open to the entire study body ud
all students are particularly encouraged
to be there. _
As students, we cannot let progress on

continue to merely gripe and yet do
nothing ourselves. We have a respon
sibility to ourselves and the whole
college community to keep awareness at
a peak through “TheCluster.” More
over, we hive a responsibility to assist
the university in any way we can to help
administrators produce this vital facility
for us and for future Mercer students.

Co-op
Manager .
Deserves '
Praise
Mike McKinney, the supervisor of the
Co-op, deserves a word of praise for the
improvements that have been made in
the Co-op since he waa hired last
November.
McKinney, who has the responsibility
of supervising the snacks shops on the
Mercer campus and at the new law
school building, done a great deal to
improve the quality of the food and the
physical appearance of the Co-op.
When McKinney was hired last
quarter he took charge of a facility which
tifcd been carelessly neglected for years.
The floorywere dirty, the curtains were
lied up in' knots, the furniture was
collapsing and the menu had been pared
to a bare minimum. Since that time
floors have been painted, curtains
unraveled, furniture repaired and the
menu has been substantially increased.
The revised menu includes sandwiches
from the new miniature deli shop which
was added this quarter. McKinney has
not only improved the quality and variety
of the food served in the Co-op, he has
even lowered prices on several food
It is satisfying to note that McKinney
is not content with the work he has
already done. More improvements in the
Co-op facilities are being planned for the
immediate future.
