THE TRIBUNE-OF-ROME, SUNDAY MORNING MARCH 15.1891.
An Announcement.
Home, Ga., March 10th, 1891.
To the Readers of the Tkibusk:
WE have engaged certain space in
The Tribune—not to parade
our name, as many others seem
to do, but in which to make known some
important facts —facts of interest to you!
Since beginning business we have bought
more than a quarter of a million of dollars
of goods at bankrupt sale. Customers
have saved money by buying them of us.
This may not be important to you, but
what is important to you is that within
the last forty days we have purchased
$50,409.80 worth of goods at receiver’s
sales —a large percentage of which have
been shipped to our Rome store. They
are here and not here to keep. We bought
them to sell. We can and will price them
so they will sell.
The last purchase was made of H.
Wolf & Bro., of Thomasville, Ga., of a
stock invoicing ($33,000) thirty-three
thousand dollars —consisting of fine dress
goods, laces, embroideries, trimmings,
linens, fine hosiery, gloves, underwear,
fine shoes and notions in endless variety.
A drummer said to us yesterday “H.
Wolf <fc Bro., carried the finest stock of
goods handled in Georgia.” They are
certainly not goods to drag even were
they held at the usual retail values. But

Listen:
THESE GOODS ARE FOR SALE.
We bought of C. H. Young & Co., also
of Thomasville, $13,000 worth of fine
clothing’ and furnishing goods. Before
their failure no competitor of theirs
carried as fine goods as they kept. It is
a superb stock of goods. We bought it
at 55 cents on the dollar on first cost and
we will sell ,it at less than wholesale
values. If you want a fine suit of cloth
ing for a little money, come to see us.
We bought at 50 cents on the dollar a
splendid stock of hats. We shall not try
to double our money on them. We will
sell them at less than New Y' rk cost,
and, like many other lines in the stock,
at much less than New York cost. But
we cannot further particularize here.
Our house is full of goods—matchless
bargains if you please. While they last,
we shall recognize no competition. They
are to be sold at what they will bring.
