JANUARY 15, 2009 On the Record Hull man faces DUI, other charges A Hull man was arrested on DUI and other charges last week after he ran over a row of mailboxes. James Christopher Rowden, 35, 570 Ed Code Road, was also charged with leaving the scene of an accident and open container in vehicle. According to the incident report, a woman on Ed Coile Road reported that she saw a white van driving in and out of the parking area of a trailer park driven by a man who appeared to be intoxicated and who was yelling things out of the van window. As he exited the park for the last time, she reportedly saw him strike a row of mail boxes, including her own. A second witness confirmed her statement and told Deputy Gary Floyd he knew the driver. Floyd followed the witness to 570 Ed Coile Road where he found the white van parked with the lights on and the engine run ning. The driver, identified as Rowden, was found slumped over the steering wheel, passed out. Deputy Floyd was eventu ally able to wake him up and get him to unlock the doors. As the door opened, Floyd noticed a strong odor of alcohol and that Rowden could barely speak and had started to drool. Deputy Floyd asked Rowden if he needed an ambulance, to which he replied “no, he was just drunk.” Rowden was trans ported to the Madison County Jail. Other arrests on file at the sheriff’s office this week, included: •Michael Ray Bradshaw, 38, 40 Madison Oaks, Colbert, order to incarcerate. •Crystal Dawn Brown, 24, 2955 Hwy. 172 East, Bowman, possession, manufacture, distri bution, etc., VGCSA possession of a controlled substance, drug- related objects, driving while license withdrawn, suspended or revoked, speeding and reck less driving. •Amanda Dawn Cooper, 26, 140 Davis Place, Athens, proba tion violation (original charges: identity fraud and forgery). •Jeffery Donald Doster, 46, 877 Hwy. 106, Hull, two counts of probation violation (original charges: two counts of VGCSA cocaine). •Ronald Menbreno Garcia, 25, 1228 Stone Stewart Road, Hull, possession of marijuana less than an ounce and driving without a license (unlicensed/ wrong class). •Xavier Fanchon Guest, 20, 170 Peachtree Lane, Athens, possession, manufacture, distri bution, etc. VGCSA with intent to distribute, obstruction of an officer and possession of a fire arm or knife while trying to commit crimes. •Justin Lee Parham, 18, 4672 Paoli Road, Comer, burglary (felony). •Rita Michelle Rogers, 41,55 Robert Hardman, Winterville, four counts of deposit account fraud. •Robbie Sinclair Stringer, 25, 190 Bowles Drive, Athens, possession, manufacture, etc. VGCSA with intent to distrib ute, driving while license with drawn suspended or revoked, obstruction of an officer, flee ing or attempting to elude a police officer, speeding, reck less driving, improper passing, failure to drive within a single lane, driving on the wrong side of an undivided street, failure to obey traffic control device, pos session of arms by a convicted felon and first offender proba tion and possession of firearm or knife while trying to commit crimes. •Brenda Kay Beusse, 55, 2605 Duffle Martin Road, Comer, possession, manufac ture, distribution, etc, VGCSA. •Christopher Paul Dennis, 20, 119 Jack Sharp Road, Hull, theft by taking motor vehicle. •Sherina Leshay Dunn, 34, 86 Femdale Court, Hull, driv ing while license withdrawn. •Claudia Espinoza, 28, 1495 Hwy. 29 North, Athens, driving without a license and speeding. •Taylor Allen Hammond, 18, 114 McCarty Dodd Road, Colbert, possession, manufac ture, distribution, etc, VGCSA and drug-related objects. •Tony Rydell Hare, 39, 1775 East Broad Street, Athens, bench warrant. •Antonia Jaquise Martin, 19, 121 Deer Creek Drive. Dog shot on Colbert Grove Church Road Aggravated cruelty to animals was reported at a residence on Colbert Grove Church Road after his dog was found dead on the back side of his property. According to the incident report, the man stated he had let his dog out of its pen and was unable to locate him that night. The dog was later found, deceased, and appeared to have been shot twice with a small caliber rifle. The deputy stated that no other evidence was found at the scene. In another incident, a woman on Pine Valley Farm Road reported that a 22-caliber rifle and a coin collection had been stolen from her mobile home. The home showed forced entry through the front door, according to the report, and the intruder appeared to have gone through her closets and drawers, leaving a mess behind. The woman reported that a neighbor heard her dog barking earlier in the evening. Long Street in Danielsville. •Failure to report an acci dent was reported on Hwy. 29 South. •Theft by taking was report ed on Helican Springs Road. •Theft by taking was report ed Hwy. 72 West. •Firearm, knife possession during an attempted crime was reported on Hwy. 29 South near Hull. •Theft by taking was report ed on Della Slaton Road. •Driving without a license was reported on Glenn Carrie Road at Hidden Falls Drive. •Failure to report an acci dent was reported on Hwy. 29 South. •Burglary was reported on Pine Valley Farm Road. •Theft by taking was report ed on Blacks Creek Church Road •Driving without a license was reported on Hwy. 72 at Honeysuckle Road. •Driving while license suspended was reported on Blacks Creek Church Road at Jot Em Down Road. •Terroristic threats and acts were reported on Hwy. 29 South. •Driving while license suspended was reported on Nowhere Road. •Criminal trespass was reported on Belhaven Lane. •Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act (VGCSA) was reported on Hwy. 172. •DUI/alcohol was reported on Ed Coile Road. •Entering an auto was reported on Hidden Lake Drive in Hull. •Theft by taking was report ed on North Fourth Street in Colbert. •Criminal damage to prop erty in the second degree was reported on Allen Road. •Marijuana possession of less than an ounce was reported on Hwy. 106 South in Hull.
