Born in Louisiana, he lived in the metro Atlanta area for the past 11 years and was for merly employed as a sales manager with Millen Industries. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy during World War II in the Pacific theater. Survivors include his wife, Vivian Auttonberry, Snellville; daughter and son-in-law, June and Richard Vancil, Snellville; grandchildren, Richard D. Born on April 5, 1931, he was the son of the late Eugene Brookins and Susie Johnson Broadnax, and was a resident of Madison County for 38 years. He was a wood restoration mas ter craftsman and also an author. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force in the Korean Conflict. He was Baptist, and was music director for sev eral local churches in the area, Ila Baptist, Danielsville Baptist, Comer Baptist, Maysville Baptist, Holy Springs Baptist in Bowman, Pleasant Grove in Neece, Arnoldsville Baptist, and Central Baptist. Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Rhonda Smith Broadnax; sons, Mark Broadnax and Barry Broadnax; daughter. January 22, 2009. ‘Nan’Forester ROYSTON - Frances “Nan" Scarboro Forester, 79, died Tuesday, January 20, 2009, at her residence, following an extended illness. Born in Franklin County on September 23, 1929, she was the daughter of the late James Oscar and Mary Moon Scarboro. She worked as a seam stress in the garment industry in Royston and Carnesville during the 1950s and 1960s, and worked at home as a daycare provider for many children during the 1970s. She retired from Life Springs Resources (formerly Advocate Press) after 10 years of service. The love and care she gave to everyone she encountered made a great impact on countless lives, loved ones added. She will be greatly missed. Mrs. Forester was a member of the Peniel Pentecostal Holiness Church, and was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Forester; grand son, Keith Smith; brothers, O.B. Scarboro, Eldridge Scarboro and Jimmy Scarborough; and a sis ter, Blondine Settlemyre. Survivors include daugh ters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Roger B. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Dahlonega, and after moving to Winder, he attended East Side Baptist Church. Ronnie Grizzle GAINESVILLE Ronnie Winfred Grizzle, 48, died Monday, January 19, 2009, fol lowing a sudden illness. Born December 22, 1960, in Gainesville, he was the son of Junior Winfred Grizzle and Ila Mae Smith Grizzle of Gainesville and lived all his life in Hall County. He was an Associate Pastor at Oakwood Church of God, where he was instrumen tal in designing the sanctuary and other new additions of the church. He taught the adult Sunday school class and trained workers for the church. He was a worship leader and was an advocate in visiting the sick, and loved Oakwood Church of God, where he gave much of his time and services for the work of the Lord. Mr. Grizzle was preceded in death by his two children. Survivors in addition to his parents, include his wife of 21 1/2 years, Tammy Grizzle, Gainesville; son, Kyle Grizzle, Gainesville; brother and sister-in- law Pastor Michael and Angela Grizzle, Gainesville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie and Steve Lott, Humble, Texas, Lisa and Ricky Marlow, Gainesville, Angie and Mark Vandiver, Lula; father-in-law and mother-in- law, Grady and Linda Roberts, Gainesville; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Janet and Jack Crowder, Gainesville, Christy and Scott Cramer, Dawsonville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in- law Joey and Connie Roberts of Gainesville, Freddy and Teresa Roberts, Gainesville; and nieces and nephews. She was a member of Hartwell First Baptist Church, Ruth Sunday School Class, and a former Wednesday night supper worker. She was a charter member of Madora Garden Club, Avid Bridge play er, and enjoyed fishing, loved ones stated. Mrs. McMullan was preceded in death by her husband, John F. McMullan, who was Banks County's 2nd County agent; a son, Lewis B. McMullan; brothers, Jessie, Maurice and Fred Blackwell; and sisters, Alice Tucker and Ruby Blackwell.
