MCHS FFA Reporter
The Madison County High
School FFA chapter has a lot of
events scheduled for this semes
ter.
The first event will be National
FFA Week, which is March 2 -
6. During National FFA Week,
every day has a different dress
theme and a different activity
during lunch. Our second event
is a skeet shoot on March 12,
which will be held at Brush
Creek. At our Fall FFA Skeet
Shoot 45 members attended.
We’re hoping for a better turn
out at this spring shoot.
April is a very busy month for
the Madison County FFA chap
ter. On April 10, we will have
our second annual Boston Butt
sale. Last year we had a tremen
dous turnout for this fundraiser.
We hope everyone’s ready for a
Boston Butt or two this April. If
you're interested, the cost is $20
and you can contact the high
school to reserve your ham.
Our FFA chapter will also have
30 members attending the FFA
State Convention in Macon dur-
COMER DONATES
TO SHELTER
As part of their 100 th
day celebration, the
Comer Elementary
School Comets raised
money for Madison
Oglethorpe Animal
Shelter (MOAS).
Students were asked
to bring in 100 pen
nies on the 100th day
of school. “The Comets
were proud to give
Susan Fomash, MOAS
Director, a check for
$187,” teachers said.

ing April 23 - 25, 2009.
At the FFA State Convention
last year, our chapter was treated
to country singer Luke Bryan in
concert and witnessed several
FFA members going across the
stage to receive awards.
The FFA Parent - Member
Banquet will be on April 28 and
will be held at Trinity Baptist
Church.
I look forward to the spring
semester because we have
award programs that recognize
our individual accomplish
ments. Also, to end the 2008-
2009 school year on a good note
we will have our spring barbe
cue on May 7, 2009. This will
be your last chance to buy an
FFA barbecue plate until our fall
semester. The second semester
of school is jam-packed with
activities for FFA members. If
you have a child who is inter
ested in joining the High School
FFA chapter, please contact an
advisor.
