Bom in Athens, he was the son of Betty Jones Martin and the late Carroll Blaine Jones. He lived most of his life in Barrow and Jackson County, only recently moving to Lexington. He was a mechanic with M & M Transmission and loved camping and fish ing. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by grandparents, Hoke Henry and Annie Elizabeth Jones and Curtis Eugene and Edna Truelove. Bom on January 20, 1940, in Habersham County, he was the son of the late George G. and Drucilla Heaton Marcus. He was retired from Scovill Manufacturing with 39 Vi years of service, and was a cabinetry graduate of North Georgia Technical Institute. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army. Mr. Marcus was preceded in death by brothers, Junior Marcus and Houston Marcus; and a sister, Maebelle Marcus. Survivors include his wife, Ann Whitfield Marcus, Clarkesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Chantay and Greg Beck, Mt. She retired from the United States Government with 28 years of service, and was of the Southern Baptist denomi nation. She was a lifelong resident of Dawson, the daughter of Earle Jackson and Jessie Melton Pace, both Dawson natives, and a sister to Laura Rebecca West, all of who preceded her in death. She was a correspon dent for The Dawson News and The Albany Herald before she began her teaching career in Terrell County. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Dawson for 80 years and the Minnie Clark Sunday School Class. Survivors include her hus band, A.D.
