He was the son of the late Orville Baker and Stella Mae Hooper. Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Leachman Baker; step-mother, Cora Lee Baker; sister, Modell Sorrows; brothers, Horace, Shirley and Alford Baker. Beverly Balthazor COMMERCE - Beverly Joan Balthazor, 82, died Lriday, March 13, 2009, at St. Mary’s Hospice House in Athens. Born in Kankakee, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Lialas (Berger) and Harvey Coy. She was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church of Momence, Commerce, and finally in Athens. She gradu ated from the nursing program at Presbyterian (St. Luke’s) Hospital in Chicago, Ill., and worked as registered nurse throughout her life. Her last position was with the Heritage Nursing Home in Athens. She loved to play piano and sang in the church choir most of her life. She loved her family most of all, loved ones added. Survivors include children, Susan and Marvin Mason, Jack and Prances Balthazor and Ron and Jane (Hudson) Balthazor; grandchildren, Thomas and Aimee Ballentine, Scott and Andrea Mason, Christopher and Angelia Balthazor, Katherine Hudson, Daniel Balthazor and Cara Mason; and great-grand children, Robert Ballentine, Nicholas Ballentine, Jonathan Ballentine and Myles Balthazor; sisters and brothers-in-law, Burdell and Tom Marcotte and Jerry and Nelson Ritsema. Born in Oklahoma City, Okla., he was the son of the late Clyde T. and Ruth Williams Cain. A member of Winder Pirst Baptist Church, he worked as a heavy equipment mechanic until his retirement and was co-owner of Wicker Hut Antiques. Mr. Cain served in the Navy during World War II. He loved to spend his summers in Highlands, N.C., loved ones stated.. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Holliday was preceded in death by his first wife of 42 years, Irma Rodgers Holliday.
