Lewallen, 76, died Friday, April 3, 2 0 0 9, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, following a brief illness. Born in Banks County on December 12, 1932, he was the son of the late Jim and Madge Coffee Lewallen. He was retired from Ritchie Gas Company, was for merly employed with the Baldwin Police Department, the Banks County Sheriff’s Department, and was a member of Baldwin Baptist Church. He was a veter an, having served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Lewallen was preceded in death by a sister, Janette Watkins; and brother, Owen Lewallen. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Frances Addis Lewallen, Baldwin; daughters and son-in-law, Patricia and Terry Griffin, Baldwin, and Dena Hall, Winder; sister and brother- in-law, Ruzelle and Milton Patterson, Homer; brothers and sisters-in-law, Swayne and Lynn Lewallen, Homer, Clay and Peggy Lewallen, Ray and Glenda Lewallen, all of Baldwin; grandchildren, Tammy and Jeff Owens, Clarkesville, Amber Hall, Fayetteville; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Aaron Williams, both of Clarkesville. Donald Masters PUNTA GORDA, FLA. - Donald Masters Sr., 64, formerly of Hoschton, died Monday, March 30, 2009. Born in Spartanburg, S.C., he was the son of the iiil ~ late Melvin W. and Ruby Davis Masters. He was a contractor for home con struction and remodeling and was a veteran, having served in the United States Army. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Stewart Masters, Punta Gorda, Fla.; sons and daughters-in-law, Donald Masters Jr. and Tracy Masters, Loganville, Christopher and Shauna Masters, Hahira; daughters and sons-in-law, Michele and Philip Sick, Jefferson, Wendy and Michael Yaeger, Mobile, Ala.; nine grand- children;brothers, Woodrow Masters, Greenville, S.C., and Robert Masters, Hoschton. Bessie McCollum ROYSTON - Bessie Melissa Bellamy McCollum, 93, of Brown Memorial Convalescent Center in Royston, died Thursday, April 2, 2009. Born in Franklin County on November 24, 1915, she was the daughter of the late William and Carrie Yvonne York Bellamy. She was a homemaker and a member of the Macedonia Holiness Church in Danielsville. Mrs. McCollum was pre ceded in death by her hus band, Clarence Matthew McCollum; one brother; and two sisters. Survivors include sons, Aaron McCollum and John McCollum, both of Royston; daughters, Kayrene Dyer McCollum, Ila, Margorie V. McCollum, Augusta, and Betty Ruth Dove, Canon; 11 grand children; and a number of great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday, April 5, at the Macedonia Holiness Church with the Rev. Edna McCollum WINDER - Edna Bryant McCollum, 70, died Friday, April 3, 2009. Born in Cobb County, she was the daughter of the late Amos Edward and Lilia Passemore Bryant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie William McCollum. Survivors include sons, Ernie McCollum, Tennessee, and Jeffery L. McCollum, Auburn; daugh ter, Jarhonda Ledford, Carrolton; nine grand children; fourteen great grandchildren; brothers, Lanier Bryant, Kennesaw, Ralph Bryant, Atlanta, and Cecil Bryant, Carrollton; sister, Dorothy Deavers, Kennesaw; and several nieces and nephews. Allene Montgomery LULA - Allene Montgomery, 86, died Monday, April 6, 2009, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, fol lowing an extended illness. Born in Kentucky on November 3, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Carl Jack“C.J.” and Ottie Dimple Asberry White. She was a retired LPN with 40 years of dedicated service and was a member of the Hickory Flat United Methodist Church. Mrs. Montgomery was pre ceded in death by her hus band, John Calvin “J.C.” Montgomery; brothers, Carl White Jr. and William White; sisters, Esther Ford and Ruby Allen. She enjoyed several hobbies, including flowers, birds, reading and history, loved ones added. Survivors include daugh ters and sons-in-law, Flora and Fred Wade and Susan and Larry Brown, all of Lula; son and daughter- in-law, Calvin and Maxie Montgomery, Lula; sisters, Marjorie Meeks, Grier, S.C., Martha Milam, Cleveland, and Maycel Chrisnran, Lula; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and neph ews. She was a homemaker and was a member of Hazel Creek Baptist Church, where she had taught children’s Sunday School for many years. Survivors include her hus band, Lynn Moore, Mt. Airy; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon Hollis, Angela and Roger Blair, all of Mt. Airy, Mary and Chris McNairy, Athens, Ala.; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Helen Moore, Clarkesville; sisters, Carolyn Purcell, Mt. Airy, Wansa Purcell, Genell Williams and Linda Poole, all of Homer; broth ers, James Whitfield, Mt. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Royston was pre ceded in death by his wife, Delcie Freeman Royston; and a brother, John Milford Royston. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Pam Royston, Royston; grandchildren, Rusty Royston and Bridgett Moorhead; six great grandchildren; and sisters, Nealie Manley and Florine Thomas, both of Royston. She attended Riverside Baptist Church and was of the Baptist denomination. Survivors in addition to her parents, include a son, Kyle Sartain; daugh ter, Lindsey Sartain; broth ers and sisters-in-law, Josh and Miranda Seagraves and Adam and Katy Seagraves; stepbrothers, Tommy Graddy, Timmy Queen, David Moon and Dennis Moon; stepsister, Sheri Landreth; grandparents, Joe and Mary Lane Sanders; and step-grandmothers, Minnie Moon and Sarah Autry. Mrs. Seabolt was preceded in death by a nephew, Chad Dalton. Survivors in addition to her mother, include her husband, J.C. Born on April 2, 1945, in Hall County, he was the son of the late Garnett Woodrow Tumlin Sr. and Lucille Jones Tumlin. He was a self-employed painter and a member of Rock Hill Congregational Holiness Church. Survivors include his wife, Linda Tumlin, Gainesville; son, Victor Keith Tumlin, Hull; daughters, Bridget Lopez, Norcross, Kimberly Tumlin and Contrina Romero, both of Gainesville; grand sons, Jarrett Chitwood and Theron Heaton, both of Gainesville; step-sons, Brian Manus and Scott Manus, both of Gainesville, Chris Chitwood, Bethlehem; step daughter, Theresa Heaton, Gainesville; 29 grandehl- dren; five great-grandchil dren; and two sisters. Born on August 9, 1928, in Warrenton, lauwj — he was the Bmmi I son of the late Joseph Washington and Lucille Lokey Wheeler. He was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church, an ordained deacon, and retired from Athens First Bank and Trust as a commercial loan officer. Mr. Wheeler was preceded in death by broth ers, Walter Donald Wheeler and Anthony Gheesling Wheeler. He graduated from Thomson High School and entered the United States Navy in 1946. He graduated from Presbyterian College in 1951 with an AB in eco nomics. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Whitehead Wheeler; sons, Charles Lokey Wheeler Jr. and Vicki H. Wheeler, Lawrenceville, William Warren and Ellen B. Wheeler, Toccoa, and Benjamin Whitehead and Natalie O. B., and Thoyce Wilkins, Nena Mae McDougald, Sally McDougald and Dorothy Herndon. Survivors include his wife, Charlene Berryman Wilkins, Hoschton; chil dren and spouses, Farrell and Penny Wilkins, Renea and Tim Ferguson, all of Hoschton, David C. and Melony Wilkins, Winder; grandchildren, Tabitha Ferguson, Brooke Wilkins and Matt Ferguson, all of Hoschton, and Bailey Wilkins, Winder.
