Six Raider baseball players earned all-region
accolades according to the recently-released
list.
Outfielder Dustin Roberts was the Raiders’
lone first-team selection after hitting a team-
high .424 this spring with seven homers and
27 RBIs.
Second baseman Ian Drake (.341, 5 HR, 28
RBIs), third baseman Seth Fleming (.381, 7
HR, 25 RBIs), catcher Matt Kennison (.333, 3
HR, 16 RBIs), first baseman Bo Dalton (.329, 8
HR, 31 RBIs) and pitcher Jack May (7-1, 2.07
ERA, 44 K) were all second-team selections.
Heritage led the region with nine all-region
players, including Hitter of the Year (Tyler
Austin). Region champion Loganville had seven
selections, including Coach of the Year (Jeff
Segars).

Camps
Summer camps offered at high school
Several summer sports camps
are offered at Madison County
High School:
MCHS offers two
baseball camps for
8-15-year-olds
Madison County High School
will hold two baseball camps for
players ages 8-15 June 1 and June
3-5 at Red Raider Baseball Field
from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The school will offer a hitting
camp for $25 and a baseball camp
for $75. The fee for each session is
non-refundable.
A $10 charge is added for those
registering the day of the camp.

The hitting camp teaches the fun
damentals of batting. Players may
bring their own bats and are encour
aged to wear batting gloves to pre
vent blisters.
The baseball camp teaches hitting,
position play, base running, team
defense and other aspects of the
game. A game will be played each
day. Lunch break is from 11:30 a.m.
to noon, but the camp won’t provide
meals. Players should bring lunch
and drinks in a cooler with their
names on it. Water breaks will be
taken as needed.

MCHS offers
baseball camp
for ages 6-7
Madison County High School will
offer a youth baseball camp specifi
cally for 6-7-year-olds this summer.
The camp is June 1 and June 3-5
at Red Raider Baseball Field from
8:30 a.m. to noon.
The cost is $50. non-refundable.
Organizers ask that applicants turn
in all paperwork prior to the first
day of camp. A $10 fee is added
for those registering the day of the
camp. Make checks payable to

The camp teaches hitting, position
play, base running, team defense and
other aspects of baseball. The camp
does not include a lunch break.
Players may bring a cooler (with
their names written on it) with drinks
and a snack. Water is provided.

Softball camps ahead
at MCHS in June
Madison County High School
will offer two softball camps this
summer for players ages 7-13.
An all-skills and fundamental
camp will be held June 1-3 from 9
a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $50.
A hitting camp is scheduled for
June 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.. focus
ing on bunting, hitting techniques
and fundamentals. The cost of the
camp is $30. There is a discount for
those pre-registering for both camps
by May 29. "Enrollment will be
limited to assure quality instruction
in small groups and individually”
organizers said.
Both camps will be held at the high
school softball field. Registration
forms are available at the Madison
County Recreation Department
lower concession stand or at the
Diamond Hill complex concession
stand.

Tumbling:
Lor girls ages 3-12 years old. Students will be placed
in the appropriate class according to their skill level.
Baby Boogie Class:
Lor girls ages 3, 4 and 5 years old.
This will include some dance and tumbling.
Jazz and Tumbling:
Lor girls ages 8-12 years old.
Classes will begin on Monday. June 8
