2008 Annual Water
Quality Report
City of Ila
Drinking Water Meets State & Federal
Regulations
The City of Ila Water Department is pleased to report that
our Drinking Water meets and/or exceeds the regulations as set
by the State and Federal Government.
Included in this report is important information in regards to
your water quality, where it comes from, the parameters of
detected contaminants and how our water compares to those
parameters as set by regulatory agencies. The contaminants
that were detected in our drinking water are listed in this
report.
If present, elevated levels of lead can cause serious health
problems, especially for pregnant women and young children.
Lead in drinking water is primarily from materials and
components associated with service lines and home plumbing.
Ila is responsible for providing high quality drinking water, but
cannot control the variety of materials used in plumbing
components. When your water has been sitting for several
hours, you can minimize the potential for lead exposure by
flushing your tap for 30 seconds to 2 minutes before using the
water for drinking or cooking. Information on lead in drinking
water, testing methods and steps you can take to reduce
exposure is available from the Safe Drinking Water Hotline or
at http://www.epa.gov/safewater/lead.
Last year, the City of Ila conducted hundreds of laboratory
tests for more than 94 parameters to insure the water we
provide our customers is safe. Our Water Department is
committed to providing our community with sufficient quantity
of clean, safe, reliable drinking water. For more information
about our drinking water program or this water quality report
call Mike Coile at 706-789-2244.
