from MP 1.35 to MP 2.55
in Madison County approxi
mately 4.5 miles north of
Athens. Construction on
this project began in 2007
and has been completed.
However, during construction,
sediment entered a small lake
located on the east side of
SR 106 approximately 1.3
miles north of US Highway
29. To remove the sediment
and return the lake to its pre
construction condition, GDOT
proposes to build a temporary
wooden pad next to the lake
for crane access. The crane
pad would be within the lake’s
25-foot vegetated buffer and
the operation would tempo
rarily disturb approximately
162 linear ft and 4,433 square
feet of the grassed lake buf
fer. Following the removal of
the sediments, GDOT would
replant the site with grasses.

Corrective Action
This is to inform all inter
ested persons that the fol
lowing property(ies) has been
designated by the Director of
the Environmental Protection
Division (EPD), as needing
Corrective Action. This des
ignation was made in accor
dance with Section 391-3-
19- 06(6) of the Rules for
Hazardous Site Response.
The HSI is a list of sites in
Georgia known or suspected
of having had a release of a
regulated substance above a
reportable quantity. The HSI
is complied and published by
EPD. The first edition of the
HSI was published July 1,
1994, and will be published
annually every July 1. One
copy of the HSI is sent to the
Clerk of the Superior Court
of each county in Georgia.
The Clerk of the Superior
Court is required to keep the
most current copy of the HSI
where the deed records of
the county are kept so that all
interested persons may have
ready access to it.

Madison County, Georgia no
later than 15 days from filing
of the Declaration of Taking.
