Bom in Statham, she was the daughter of the late Earle and Lena Mobley Casper. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church and was retired from Barrow Manufacturing. Mrs. Banks was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Stanton M. Banks; and broth ers, Edward, Arthur Due and Felton Casper. Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Ray and Linda Banks and Dennis Banks, all of Winder; seven grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one great- great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Survivors in addition to her parents include a daugh ter, Jade Brooks, Nicholson; brother, Don Brooks and his fiance, Jami Williams; sister and brother-in-law, Elbe and Roger Martin; grandmother, Estelle Carlisle; nephews, Jacob and Dylan Martin; niece, Hailey Martin; and many aunts, uncles, and cous ins. Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late J.B. and Rosa Maxwell Clark. He worked as a textile weaver with the Jefferson Mills, retir ing after 27 years of service. He was of the Baptist denomination. Mr. Clark was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Clark. Survivors include his wife, Rosyln Spain Clark, Hoschton; a daughter, Janna Sue Clark Palmer, Lula; grandchildren, Jackie Gail Palmer, Hoschton, and James Freeman Palmer, Lula; and a great-grandchild, Faith Palmer. He was the son of the late Johnnie Lou Hollis Dixon and was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Lance Cannon. He worked as a service repre sentative with a telemarketing company and was a United States Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. October 15, 2009. (875) Howard Floyd DANIELSVILLE Howard Norman Floyd, 84, died Sunday, October 11, 2009. A native of Elbert County, he was a son of the late Mark and Myrtle Thompson Floyd and was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Harriette Ernestine Floyd. Mr. Floyd was a 1943 graduate of Madison County High School and a lifelong member of Mt. Hermon Presbyterian Church, where he served as treasurer for over 40 years, as well as many other positions, including elder. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was retired from the United States Postal Service. He served as Postmaster of Danielsville from 1969 until 1980 and was an active member of the Post Office Has Beens. Mr. Floyd received his 50 year certificate from the American Legion and was a member of the Masonic Lodge since 1952. After his retirement, he was associated with Brown's Funeral Home and Lord & Stephens Funeral Home for many years. Throughout his life, he enjoyed his talents as a musician, vocalist, poet and historian. Survivors include daughters, Melanie Casatelli, Alpharetta, and Elizabeth “Betsy” Booth, Allen, Texas; grandchildren, Eric Booth, David Booth, Jordan Booth, all of Allen, Texas, and Michael Casatelli, Alpharetta; and a number of nieces and nephews. Hall; and brothers, Edgar Hall and Robert Lee Hall. Mr. Hall was a retiree of Johns-Manville Corporation. Born in Oglethorpe County, she was the daugh ter of the late William David Tiller and Laura Mae Smith Campbell. She was a mem ber of Crawford Pentecostal Holiness Church and had most recently attended Mt. Pleasant Meeting House. She retired from Overhead Door after 15 years. Mrs. Harper was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas D. Harper; a daughter, Bridgett Rae Fortson; and sister, Jurene Stewart. Born on May 23, 1948, in Anderson, S.C., he was the son of the late Charles Luis McPhail Sr. and Kathleen Alsena Rogers. He was a mem ber of the Griffin First United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir. He was retired from the Thomaston Upson School System after 38 years of teaching. He was a member of the Phi Mu Alpha Music Fraternity and a long time member of the G.M.E.A. and P.A.G.E. where he was a district board member. Survivors include his wife, Jan McPhail, Griffin; brother, Roy A. McPhail, Memphis, Tenn.; mother-in-law, Agnes Woodall, Thomaston; brother- in-law, Franklin M. Woodall Jr. and his wife, Angie, Dublin; and a sister-in-law, Jill Woodall, Thomaston. A memorial concert cel ebration of life and achieve ments will be announced at a later time by the family.
