(875) Helen Revis PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL - Helen Revis, “Ma”, 84, died Wednesday, October 14, 2009. Born in 1924, she was a native of Marion, N.C., and lived in Athens from 1987 until 2004, when she moved with her youngest son to PCB, Fla. Mrs. Revis was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Revis; and a son, Eunie Revis. She will be greatly missed by all. Survivors include her eight children, Perry Revis and wife Kim Revis along with their four children and five grandchildren. Arnold Revis and wife Kwon Revis along with their three children and grandchildren. Jeanette Helper and husband Dean and their children and grandchildren, great grandchildren. Barbara Harper and husband Pat Harper along with their six children and grand children, great-grand children. October 22, 2009. Evelyn Scoggins DANIELSVILLE - Evelyn V. Morelli Scoggins, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, compan ion, and friend, died Tuesday, October 16, 2009, at her res- idence. Her hus band and caregiver were by her side. Born in Dresden, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Guy Morelia and Marion O’Donnel. Mrs. Scoggins was pre ceded in death by a daughter, Carlene Peavy; granddaughter, Valarie Schroder; and great- granddaughter, Kaitlin M. Schroder. She gave to her com munity and was involved in many activities that included 13 years as a Meals-On-Wheels vol unteer with her husband, she was a co-founder of the Madison County Saddle Club, volunteered for the Battered Women Shelter of Athens, and the Our Daily Bread Food Kitchen in Athens. She was a true example of “Fove Thy Neighbor.” Her family was her life along with “The Farm” and her love for animals and nature. She was co manager of “Valley View Farms” and very active in the cattle operation for over 25 years. She also raised collies (Fassie type) for many years. Evelyn in her quiet and caring manner pro vided the funding for the Gazebo, In Memory of her daughter Carlene, at the Danielsville Park and with a friend kept the Madison County Journal operating. She was very active in her church, the Danielsville United Methodist Church, which she attended faithfully until her health declined. Evelyn will be missed by her family and many friends, especially her husband, companion, friend and partner for 51 years. Survivors include her husband, John Scoggins; daughter, Dr. Holly Scoggins and son-in-law, Dr. Joel Shuman, both of Blacksburg, Va.; grand daughter, Andrea Gill, Wedowee, Ala.; grandson, Jon Jenkins, Cleveland; great-grandsons, Grant Fackey, Mason Gill, Nickey Schroder; great- great-granddaughter, Francesca Morris; and a very special person, Mrs. Marie Carder, her care giver, for the past five years. Funeral services were held Monday, October 19, at the Danielsville United Methodist Church with the Revs. Calvin Ward and Mike McFemore officiating. Burial was at Danielsville Memorial Gardens. Born in Habersham County, he was the son of the late Henry and Annie Mae Chitwood Scroggs. He was a mechanic. Survivors include sons, Johnny Scroggs and Dennis Scroggs, both of Eastanollee; daughters, Theresa Campbell, Alto, and Deborah Martin, Toccoa; brothers, William Wylie, Commerce, Kenneth Wylie, Homer, and Fawton Scroggs, Nicholson; a sister, Kathleen Clark; 10 grand children; and eight great grandchildren. The family of Johnny Cletus Scroggs received friends in his memory Saturday, October 17, at the funeral home. However, no formal funeral service will be conducted. Born in Unicoi, Tenn., on June 27, 1931, he was the son of the late Carter Vance and Tilda Hardin Treadway. He was a retired automobile mechanic and also worked for the high way department. He was of the Holiness denomi nation. Mr. Treadway was preceded in death by six brothers; and one sister. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Ballew Treadway, Hull; sons, Carver Vance and John W. Treadway; daughters, Eula Mae Blankenship and Elaine Briggs, both of Flag Pond, Tenn., Mary E. Roadenberry, and Shirley Cooper; stepdaughters, Charlotte Evans and Rhonda Knapp, both of Elberton, Fisa Mize, Athens, and Tammy Owens, Commerce; stepsons, Keith Epps, Danielsville, and Kevin Epps, Hoschton; sis ters, Evelyn Miller, North Carolina, and Inez Metcalf, Flag Pond, Tenn.; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchil dren. Born in Truetlen County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Estelle Cook Gurley. She was retired from Arcade Frozen Foods, was a life long member of the Arc ade Presbyterian Church and was currently attending The First Baptist Church of Commerce. Mrs. Williamson was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Williamson. Survivors include her children, Trisha and Toby Evans, Watkinsville, Wanda and Joe Massey, Commerce, and Joy Hacker, Jefferson; brothers, Paul Gurley, Jefferson, Junior Gurley, Alma; sister, Jeanette Gurley, Alma; ten grand children; 12 great-grand children; and two great- great-grandchildren. David F. Woodberry Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Witler Woodberry. He retired from the Georgia Department of Corrections and was a member of the Juliette United Methodist Church, member of High Falls American Fegion, and an associate member of Vietnam Veterans. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife, Sue Woodberry, Juliette; children and spouses, Vivian Woodberry and Bill McFendon, Alpharetta, David and Wanda Woodberry, Juliette; sister, Joan Foote, Fernandina Beach, Fla.; grandchil dren, Garrett McFendon, Kristina McFendon, Amanda Wooten and husband, Rick, Suzanne Woodberry, Matthew Woodberry, Amanda Benfield and her hus band, Clay, and Saralyn Gregory; and a great- grandson, Erik Benfield.
