Juvenile charged with aggravated assault
A juvenile was arrested
and charged with aggravated
assault last week after he
allegedly threw a knife at his
brother during an argument at
their grandmother’s home.
According to the incident
report, officers were dis
patched to a home on Collins
Bridges Road after a woman
called to report that her grand
sons were fighting and that
one had pulled a knife on the
other.
The offender told deputies
that he had just broken up with
his girlfriend and took it out
on his brother, whom he said
he “can’t stand.” The boy then
reportedly told the officer that
he wanted to kill his brother.
E-911 dispatch also advised
that when they received the
emergency call, a male voice
in the background could be
heard yelling, “I’m going to
kill you!”

the sheriff’s office this week
included:

erty in the second degree was
reported on Hwy. 98.
•Burglary was reported on
Garnett Ward Road.
•Violation of a Family
Violence Order was reported
on Wildcat Bridge Road.
•Driving without a license
was reported on Grady Drive
at Glenn Carrie Road.
•Disorderly conduct was
reported on Willis Glenn
Road.
•Burglary was reported on
Freeman Circle.
•Burglary was reported on
Hwy. 172.
•Reckless conduct was
reported on Hwy. 106 South.
•Battery FVA was reported
on Charlie Bolton Road.
•Battery FVA was reported
on Strickland Circle.
•A domestic dispute was
reported on Colbert Grove
Church Road.
•Battery FVA was reported
on McCarty Dodd Road.
•A domestic dispute was
reported on Duncan Swindle
Road.
•Aggravated assault was
reported on Sims Kidd Road.
Comer man charged
with sexual battery,
child molestation
A 44-year-old Comer man employed as an assistant profes
sor of biology at Brenau University has been charged with
sexual battery and child molestation.
Kevin Holloman, 21 Gholston Street, was arrested by
Gainesville police after law officers responded to a report of
sexual battery at Brenau University. Police have not released
information about the victim because of her age, but she was
reportedly acquainted with Holloman.

A Bowman woman was
charged with driving under
the influence after a deputy
was dispatched to Hwy. 172
and Hwy. 98 (Paoli Junction)
about a reckless driver.
Maria Annette Buffington,
36, 150 East Church Street,
was charged with one count
each of DUI and improper
passing.
Deputy Mark Jerome fol
lowed Buffington’s vehicle
across Hwy. 98 onto Hwy.
172 towards Elbert County
and noted that the vehicle
could not maintain lane. When
Deputy Jerome activated his
blue lights, the vehicle came
to a stop in the middle of the
road. The driver, Buffington,
stated that she had spilled
her boiled peanuts in her lap.
Deputy Jerome noted that
there was no smell of alco
hol, though her speech was
slurred and her eyes were pin
pointed. While begin booked,
Buffington allegedly told the
booking officer that she had
taken a Lortab that morning.
