Everyone is welcome, church leaders said. •The Colbert United Methodist Men are selling a 3-lb. bag of shelled, Plains, raw peanuts for $5.50 per bag. Rowland Arrowood and the church is located on Hwy. 98, one mile before the red light in Danielsville. •Colbert Word of Life Church will have a yard sale Saturday, Nov. 7, from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. to benefit youth programs at the church. The church is located off Hwy. 72. Lots of "new" donations inside the Family Life Center for sale and the great cooks have unforgetta ble baked goods outside, church leaders said. Come by to browse and visit. All proceeds go to the family life center project. •Bluegrass Gospel comes to Nicholson at Beauchamps Gospel Hall, Hwy. 441 every Saturday night from 6-9 p.m. "We're looking for bluegrass gospel groups to perform," orga nizers said. Church leaders say the Potters House will be available to pick up any remaining items. •Providence Baptist Church will hold a fall festival, hobo sup per and concert Saturday, Nov. 7. The festival will be held from 5-8 p.m. with games for kids, hay rides, cakewalk and other fun activities. The hobo supper plates are $6 each and include fatback, combread, fried pota toes, onion slices and choices of black-eyed peas or pinto beans and cabbage or slaw. The supper will be available from 5-7 p.m. - take out or dine in. The concert. featuring the group Fourgiven, and others, will begin at 7 p.m. Admission is free for the festival and concert. The congregation averages 65-85 in attendance every Sunday. The choir has 7-10 members and they sing primarily unison arrangements. Duties include choosing three hymns and one contemporary chorus a week for services, as well as choosing and preparing a call-to-worship and hymn of invitation. Wednesday evenings will consist of lead ing contemporary Christian and modem Christian rock. Pianist should be able to play con temporary songs, hymnals and accompaniments. The hours will be Sunday, both a.m. and p.m., choir practice and Wednesday evenings. The pay is $111 per week, per position.
