Colbert man faces family violence charge
State Patrol investigates 12 accidents
State troopers from the Athens Post of the Georgia State
Patrol investigated 12 Madison County traffic accidents
during November that resulted in 18 injuries.
Troopers also issued 109 traffic citations, seven arrests
for driving under the influence, 30 citations for speeding,
26 seat belt violations and 126 warnings.
Reward offered in bank robbery
First American Bank located on Hull Road in Clarke
County was robbed at gun point Nov. 24, at approximately
11:58 a.m.
A masked male entered the bank and demanded money.
After robbing the bank, the male fled to a waiting white in
color car. The vehicle was last seen traveling west on Hull
Road.
The suspect who entered the bank was described as
around 5’9” and approximately 140 to 150 pounds.
A Crime Stoppers reward of up to $1,000 is being offered
for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the
suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det.

A Colbert man was arrested
on family violence and other
charges last week after he
allegedly attacked and bit his
father on the ear.
Jeremy Barton Lee, 33,
1686 Sorrow Patterson Road,
was charged with aggravated
battery FVA, third degree cru
elty to children, obstruction
of an officer and a parole
violation.
According to the incident
report, Deputy Gary Floyd
arrived at the residence on
Sorrow Patterson Road and
saw a young girl run by his
patrol car screaming. As
Floyd approached a commo
tion on the front porch, he
saw Lee, who appeared to be
intoxicated, being restrained
by his father, who was bleed
ing from a head wound. As
Deputy Floyd attempted to
handcuff Lee, he began to
resist and attempted to bite his
father, who was still tangled
up with him. Deputy Floyd
was eventually able to sub
due Lee, who reportedly spat
at him and his father several
times.

home had been broken into.
The front door had been kicked
in and more than $10,000 in
items were reportedly taken,
including electronics, jewelry,

reported that a male subject

new resource for teen drivers
and their parents.
The website — “Teen
Driving Safety 101,” www.
dot.ga.gov/teendriving — is a
“one-stop” information portal
providing information on driv
ing laws, safety tips and travel
information to help teens stay
safe behind the wheel.

people to prevent ice on the
roadways by turning off their

one count of battery FVA.
According to the incident
report, Deputy Josh Smith
found the woman walking
on Lowe Road towards Hwy.
98. She explained that her
husband had assaulted her by
pulling her hair, striking her
in the head with a closed fist
and hitting her with a belt.
She showed Smith marks that
were allegedly left by the belt.
Deputy David Kidd went to
the residence where he made
contact with Arroyo, who told
him that the two of them were
a time on two separate vis
its. The man allegedly left
in a Chrysler Concorde of
unknown color. A copy of the
store’s surveillance video was
obtained as evidence.
