DECEMBER 10. 2009 — PAGE 7A School News AGS releases headmaster’s, honor roll lists Morgan Tolbert placed second with her commercial heifer, while her chi-angus heifer took top honors in every cat egory. Madison County beef team excels in Gwinnett Fair The five Madison County youth who attended the Gwinnett County Fair in November weren't focused on the thrilling rides that the midway had to offer. Instead their focus was on the thrill of exhibiting their beef projects. Exhibitors from Madison County High School included Kim Chandler, Natia Shonia and Morgan Tolbert. In showmanship. Chandler placed first with both her simmental and her charolais heifer, while Tolbert placed second with her chi-angus and third with her commercial heifer. In their breed and weight classes, Shonia placed second with her red angus heifer. Chandlerplaced first withherother breeds heifer and also placed sec ond with her percentage simmental heifer. Chandler was awarded the Academy exhibitors included Stephanie Hilbum and Brock Compton. In showmanship, Hilbum placed second; and Compton placed fourth, hi the steer show, Hilbum placed fourth and was also awarded first place with her commercial heif er. Compton placed seventh place with his commercial heifer. 4-Her Kayla Whitehead placed second in her angus showmanship class and was awarded fifth place. Whitehead also placed seventh in her commercial heifer class. Athens Christian School has announced the students from Madison County who made its Headmaster’s list and honor roll for the school’s first quarter. Students were selected by their homeroom teachers based on their courtesy, cooperation, responsibility, respect and consideration.
