Born February 15, 1953, in
Jackson County, he was the son
of the late Marvin John Lynn
Sr. and Sara Lynn Philips. Mr.
Lynn was preceded in death by
a brother, Weldon G. Lynn; and
grandmother, Adell Tiller “Big
Mama” Couch.
Survivors include his wife,
Janice E. Lynn, Jefferson;
sons, John Elton, Eric Wesley,
Jacob Marvin Lynn, Clay
Haggard and Rick Beatty; a
daughter, Jessica D. Pittman;
brother, Mike Lynn, Jefferson;
sister, Pam Lynn Truelove;
and grandchildren, Brannon
Thomas, Tristain Dwayne Nix,
Lily Grace and Kerigen Reece
Pittman.
Memorial services will be
held Sunday, February 21, at
5 p.m. from the Living Word
Worship Center of Jefferson.
All relatives, family and friends
are welcome.

Mathis.

Milam, 65, died Friday,
February 12, 2010.
Born July 7, 1944, in Lanett.
Ala., she was the daughter
of the late Boyce and Ruby
McClure Fant. She graduat
ed from Lanett High School
in 1962, was employed with
Interstate Telephone in West
Point and retired from Chateau
Elan Hotel, in Braselton, in
2005. She was a member of
the Midway United Methodist
Church.
Survivors include her hus
band, George W. ‘Billy’ Milam,
Auburn; daughters, Beth
(Larry) Reynolds, Bogart, and
Julie (Jason) Casper, Winder;
son Cale (Jessica) Milam,
Auburn; grandchildren, Logan
Reynolds, Lucas Reynolds,
and Sophie Kate Casper; and
sister, Sandra (O’Neal) Olive,
Dadeville, Ala.
A graveside service was
held Monday, February 15,
at Hillcrest Cemetery, Lanett,
Ala.

West Point, Georgia, was in
charge of arrangements.

WINDER - Jerry Mobley,
69, died Thursday, February
11, 2010.
Born in Jackson County,
he was the son of the late
Lucious Mobley and Ruby
Moon Mobley. He was preced
ed in death by his wife, Martha
Joyce Barnette Mobley. He was
a member of The Mason -
Winder Lodge 333 and had
worked at Lucent Technology.
Survivors include a daugh
ter and son-in-law, Lynn and
Gene Rivers, Winder; son,
Mickey Mobley, Winder; five
grandchildren; and sister, Carol
Wilson, Loganville.
A memorial service was held
Sunday, February 14, from
Smith Memory Chapel, with
the Rev. A1 Garvin officiating.
The body was cremated.

Patrick, James Ted Beck and
Martha Reeves. Mr. Patrick
was a retired residential car
penter.

of Bogart, Stanley Patrick,
Winder, and Tracy Patrick, Ila;
siblings, Mary Frances Shead,
Aiken, S.C., Opal Sherwood,

Mary Duncan, Bogart, Howard
Bagwell and Pam Cash, both
of Statham, and Ann Akins,
Crawfordville; fifteen grand
children; and sixteen great
grandchildren.

with the Rev. Ed Strickland
officiating. Burial was in
Barrow Memorial Gardens.

Born in Jefferson he was the
son of the late Tommie Wilson
and Reba Stepp Phillips. He
worked
as a truck
driver with
Jones Auto
Salvage for
43 years and
was a United
States Army
veteran of
the Korean
War. He
was a member of White Plains
Baptist church in Jefferson. Mr.
Phillips was preceded in death
by his first wife, Sara Helen
Arnold Phillips; and brothers,
Roscoe and Jesse Phillips.
Survivors include his wife,
Doris Shumake Phillips,
Jefferson; a daughter, Tammy
Hayes, Jefferson; stepdaughter,
Elaine Strickland, Danielsville;
stepsons, Tony Nunn and Tim
Nunn, both of Commerce,
Terry Nunn, Jefferson; brother
and sister-in-law. Buddy and
Lucille Phillips, Cumming;
sisters-in-law, Inez Phillips
and Annie Phillips, both of
Jefferson; a number of nieces
and nephews; 13 grandchildren;
and 11 great-grandchildren.

Duke officiating. Burial was
in Woodbine Cemetery in
Jefferson. Serving as pall

ister with the Church of God,
Cleveland, Tenn., and had also
worked for several years with
the Harmony Grove Mills prior
to becoming a minister. Mr.
Porter was preceded in death by
a son, Steven Randall Porter.
Survivors include his wife,

sister-in-law, Kathleen
Maddox, Hull; children,
Debra Porter and her husband,

Marion Threlkeld, 81, died
Monday, February 8, 2010.
Born in Decatur he was the
son of the late George and
Blanche Threlkeld. He always
had a special place in his heart
for his grandchildren and many
nieces and nephews, loved
ones stated. Mr. Threlkeld
was preceded in death by his
wife of 54 years, Patricia Ann
Threlkeld; and a granddaugh
ter, Marie Weaver.
Survivors include daughters
and sons-in-law, Jan and Barry
Gowens, Social Circle, Linda
and Kenny Folsom, Conyers;
son and daughter-in-law, John
and Lisa Threlkeld, Loganville;
grandchildren, Wayne Gowens
and Wendy Spivey; and a sis
ter, Dot Goodwin.
The family will receive
friends, and a celebration of his
life, will be held at his home
in Rutledge Saturday, February
20, from 1 to 4 p.m.
