Says ‘single payer’ is
‘Marxist propaganda’
Dear Editor:
Just like to take a minute to look at Dan Vogles’s April 8th
letter to the editor captioned “No good reason U.S. can't have
a single payer system.”
“Single payer” is, of course, a Marxist propaganda phrase.
Any rational person would think that single payer bore some
resemblance to the “single payer” system we now have. A
single payer either pays his bill in cash at the doctor’s office
when he receives it; or, in the alternative, pays his insurance
company to pay the bill for him. Single payer.
Of course, a Marxist never says what he/she means.
In the “single payer” system advocated in Mr. Vogle's letter
to the editor, the “single payer” is actually the government.
The government is the “single payer” because there is only one
payer and plural (multiple) receivers. So instead of everybody
paying his own doctor bill, the government pays everybody’s
doctor bill.
If you Google “single payer” on Wikipedia.org, it redirects
to “single payer health care,” Some quotes from the resulting
article: “Single-payer health insurance collects all medical fees,
and then pays for all services, through a ‘single’ government
(or government-related) source...Examples include the United
Kingdom’s National Health Service, Australia’s Medicare,
Canada’s Medicare, and Taiwan’s National Health Service...
Single-payer systems may contract for healthcare services from
private organizations (as is the case in Canada) or may own and
employ healthcare resources and personnel (as is the case in the
UK). The term ‘single-payer’ thus only describes the funding
mechanism—referring to health care financed by a single pub
lic body from a single fund — and does not specify the type of
delivery, or for whom doctors work.”
Per the definition above, both U.S. Medicare and U.S.
Medicaid are “single payer” systems. Regardless of where the
funds come from (Social Security Trust, or general revenue),
the U.S. government is the “single payer.” Consummate Marxist
Hillary Clinton was the first to advocate a “single payer” system
in the U.S. What it amounts to is, you either collapse Medicare
and Medicaid into a new system that covers the entire popula
tion; or. you expand Medicare and Medicaid to cover the entire
population.
You could also expand Medicaid coverage to cover all persons
who “cannot afford” private insurance; and then, force those
people who work to buy private health insurance. That is what
“The Affordable Health Insurance Act” (Obamacare) does.
Makes you wonder what the purpose of making working
people buy health insurance is. Marxists are very smart and
completely and utterly wicked. Never Godly creatures, always
disciples of Satan himself. You probably should read Sun Zhu’s
Art of War and all three of Machiavelli’s books, before you
even put before you the task of trying to delve into (sort out)
a Marxist mind. To give you an example, Russian Bolshevik
communist Josef Stalin kept a copy of Machiavelli’s Prince on
his bedside table. Stalin murdered 50,000,000 Russians.
How could the buying of private healthcare be used to murder
half the U.S. population? Once you ask yourself the preceding
question, you may be able to figure out where the Marxist mind
is going.
Obama mentor and Jewish radical Saul Alinsky stated in his
book Rules for Radicals: “What follows is for those who want
to change the world from what it is to what they believe it
should be. The Prince was written by Machiavelli for the Haves
on how to hold power. Rules for Radicals is written for the
Have-Nots on how to take it away.”
It seems the “have-nots.” Josef Stalin and Saul Alinsky, are
awfully familiar with Machiavelli.
The question now becomes: If Machiavelli was a Marxist,
what would Machiavelli do.
Now it’s easy. Bankrupt the insurance companies. Bankrupt
the hospitals. Force the U.S into a “single payer” government-
owned healthcare system. Bankrupt the government. Claim
Capitalism never worked. Foment (agitate) a Marxist revolu
tion. Murder half the U.S. Population.
“Single payer.” It’s just that simple.
Sincerely,
Dwain Kirkland

Why I Relay
By Kevin Cheek
I relay for my late friend Michael
Hester. Iris wife, son and daughter.
I relay for my aunt, her husband
and her daughters. I relay for my
"Grandma-in-the-countiy” and her
husband. Also, I relay for you!
I relay because I... CAN... NOT...
stand tire word cancer. I can't stand
that we still have to use this word.
It is a word of destruction and
devastation. I relay to end the
word "cancer.” I relay to end tire
devastation that this single word
causes thousands of families every
year. Grandfather's, grandmothers,
fathers, mothers, sons and daugh
ters, no matter the title, we all know
someone who has tire word cancer
uproot their life. I relay for nry fam
ily. I relay so that my son may one
day be able to say. “I remember
when we used to go to the Relay
For Life and try to end cancer... and
we did it!"
Through Relay For Life we
have given families throughout our
community hope and safe havens.
Relay For Life is so much more
than raising funds for research.
We are helping families receive
so much more. Cancer patients
can receive assistance with hotel
expenses, phone support lines and
many, many other services.
I have had the pleasure of being a
part of Relay For Life of Madison
County for more than five years
now. I have provided music and
sound for the events since 2007.1
have also been the entertainment
chairperson for the last two Relay
For Life events. I have also been
the team captain of Two Turntables
and a Microphone/Dawg-Town
Entertainment Team for the past
two Relays. I have had a wonder
ful time planning and being a part
of so many aspects of Relay. It has
truly been a blessing to work with
so many cancer survivors and the
families of those that have lost their
battles with this terrible diagnosis,
cancer.
I am writing my reason to relay
because, I want to encourage you
to find a reason to relay and put it
into action. You may have a friend,
family member or co-worker that
has at one time or is currently bat
tling cancer. If you could spend
one night, one night a year, to
help save your friends or family
from ever having to hear this word
again, wouldn’t you? I encourage
you to find a team to join or create
a new team and begin your reason
to relay. Begin your reason to cure.
Spend one night to cure cancer.
Take 12 hours to have fun, sing,
laugh, dance and chow down on
great food with friends and fam
ily. It’s one night, one night that
could save hundreds of thousands
of lives.
For more information, we will
have our monthly meeting at Union
Baptist Church on Monday, April
9th. The Relay Committee meets
at 6 p.m. and team meetings begin
at 7 p.m. Please come find a team
or start a new one and relay with
me and hundreds of other great
Madison County citizens!

The wrong kind of carpenter
The past week or so I've felt
like I work for tire Better Business
Bureau receiving complaints
from upset homeowners about
unacceptable carpentry work.
Only these carpenters are unin
vited and are part of tire insect
world! Carpenter bees have cer
tainly been causing problems,
and unless you live in a steel
building, you’ve probably been
victim of these unscmpulous
carpenters. But since carpenter
bees look very much like bumble
bees, identification is important.
Understanding of their fife cycle
and control options are even more
important to put these bad carpen
ters out of business.
Adult carpenter bees are large,
one inch or slightly longer, robust
insects. They are blackish in color
and possess yellowish hairs most
ly on the thorax. The abdomen is
shiny black and is bare of hairs on
top. This helps distinguish carpen
ter bees from bumble bees which
are similar in size and coloration
but bumble bees have yellowish
hairs on top of their abdomen.
Carpenter bee eggs, larvae and
pupae are seldom seen since they
are out of sight in cells within gal
leries constructed in wood. When
wood containing carpenter bees is
opened to expose the immature,
larvae are legless, white grubs and
pupae resemble adults.
Carpenter bees burrow into the

exposed dry wood of buildings,
telephone poles, fence posts, etc.
causing an unsightly appearance
to the wood and structural weak
ness. They usually choose wood
that is soft and easy to work.
They seem to particularly pre
fer California redwood, cypress,
cedar, white pine and southern
yellow pine. Other woods, even
seasoned hardwoods, may be
attacked if they have been soft
ened by being unprotected and
exposed to the weather for
extended periods of time. Bare
wood is preferred. Carpenter
bees usually avoid well-painted
wood and wood with bark on it.
Wood with a stain or light coat
of paint can be attacked. Also,
wood that has been lightly pres
sure treated with metallic salts
for above ground use, such as
for decks, could become infested.
Female carpenter bees use their
mandibles to bore 1/2 inch round
holes into wood. About one inch
of gallery is constructed every
six days. Galleries normally ran
with the grain for 4 to 12 inches
or even further when old galleries
are extended. Female carpenter
bees seldom sting but when dis
turbed or handled they can inflect
a painful sting. Male carpenter
bees cannot sting but they often
become aggressive and frighten
people when they fly around their
heads.
In tire late spring and early sum
mer, adult carpenter bees emerge
from protected overwintering sites
such as old nest galleries. These
fertilized females soon begin bor
ing into susceptible wood. After
a gallery has been constructed,
an egg is deposited with a mass
of pollen and nectar. Then the
egg with provisions is sealed off
with a plug of wood pulp and
saliva. The process is continued
at the rate of one cell each day
until approximately six cells are
constructed. Adults then soon die.
Tire larval period extends 30-45
days and the pupal period 14
days. Development form egg to
adult requires five to seven weeks
or longer depending on tempera
tures.
