MAYSVILLE - Pau
lina Garrison Casper, 62,
Maysville and Lakeport, Fla.,
died Friday, July 8, 2016, at
her residence in Maysville.
She was bom November
18, 1953, in Commerce, the
daughter of Betty Chambers
Garrison Strickland; and
step-father, Doyle Strickland,
Homer, and the late Herbert
D. Garrison, Sr. She was
one of four children. Paulina
graduated from Banks Coun
ty High School in Homer
in 1971, and then Kennesaw
Junior College in 1973 with
an Associate of Science
Degree. She worked at BJC
Hospital and Nursing Home
from 1973 to 1977 and later
with Howard T. Abney, MD
in Athens, for 16 years. She
enjoyed singing at church,
weddings and other occa
sions. She enjoyed camping
with her motor home group
and riding her Goldwing
Trike with her husband and
the RCR Riders. While in
Florida, Paulina loved going
out on the airboat with the
Lakeport Fla. Airboat-
ers, playing bingo, and sit
ting around talking to many
friends.
Paulina was preceded in
death by her grandparents,
Oscar S. and Lillie Parson
Garrison and William (Bill)
and Eva Mae Mize Cham
bers; step-grandmother,
Roxy Chambers; sister-in-
law, Vivian W. Garrison; and
step-grandson, Watson Elzey.
In addition to her moth
er and step-father, Paulina
was survived by her loving
husband and caregiver, A.
Dwayne Casper, Maysville;
daughter, Melody Cochran
Fowler (Wayne) and their
child, Garrison, Homer; two
step-daughters, Melissa C.
Espy (Ned) and their chil
dren, Holly and Suzanne,
Buford, and Miriam C. Elzey
(Vince) and their children,
Madison and Graham, Cum-
ming; sister, Donna G. Payne
(Jerry) and their children, Joy
and John, Homer; brothers,
Herbert (Bo) Garrison, Jr.
and his children, Christy, Eva
Mae, Kayla Beth, Lydia and
Lil Bo, Homer, and Oscar S.
Garrison, II and his children,
Pierce and Parker, Hoschton;
sisters-in-law, Brenda C. Sav
age, Bethlehem, and Sheryl
C. McGaha, Winder; a very
loving aunt, Syble Garrison,
Homer; and many nieces,
cousins, aunts and friends.
She loved her fur baby, a Min
Pin, Maggie Mae.

Monday, July 11, at the cha
pel of Little-Ward Funeral
Home with the Rev. Phil Fer
guson officiating. Interment
was in Mt. Pleasant United
Methodist Church Cemetery.

SMYRNA - Rev. Carl
Alton Coker, 62, passed
away on Friday, July 8, 2016,
at the Wellstar Kennestone
Regional Medical Center in
Smyrna.
Rev. Coker was born in
Royston on August 15, 1953,
the son of Carlet J. Coker of
Smyrna and the late Ida Ruth
Rousey Coker. He was a tool
grinder and purchasing agent
for Reliance Electric Com
pany for 26 years and was
of the Pentecostal Holiness
denomination.
Survivors include his
brother, Michael Alvin
Coker, Smyrna.
Funeral services were held
Sunday, July 9, at the Mill
Shoal Baptist Church with
the Rev. Mike Westbrook
officiating. Interment was in
the church cemetery.

Randall “Randy” Haggard,
65, died Tuesday, July 5,
2016, at Northridge Medical
Center.
Mr. Haggard was born in
Commerce,
the son of the
late Charles
Worley and

Evans Haggard. He was a
veteran of the United States
Army and was self-employed
as a brick mason. Mr. Hag
gard was preceded in death
by his son, Adam Haggard.

Mrs. Haggard was born
December 7, 1962 in Ath

Alfred Couch. She was a
homemaker and a member of
Bluestone Baptist Church in
Danielsville.
She was

Mazurek
DEWY ROSE - Janet
Louise Brown Mazurek, 68
passed away peacefully at
her residence on Sunday,
July 10, 2016.
Janet was born in Erlangen
Germany on May 17, 1948.
She was the first of five chil
dren bom to the late Howard
and Lydia Leiser Brown.
Janet’s family relocated
from Germany to Staten
Island, N.Y. in 1949, After
growing up in Tottenville,
N.Y., she along with her hus
band Roger and two children
relocated to Georgia in 1982.
Janet thoroughly enjoyed
farming, crocheting, her fam
ily and friends. She shared
her love of the outdoors with
her children and grandchil
dren. She was very active
in her community, serving
as the Elbert County Farm
Bureau Women’s Commit
tee Chairperson for eight
years. Farm Bureau State
Women’s Committee Chair
District 2 for three years,
Elbert County Cattlemen’s
Secretary/Treasurer for nine
years, Supporter and Sponsor
for the 4H and FFA Clubs,
Georgia Representative to
National AG in the Class
room for two years, Mem
ber of Elbert County Rand
Heifer Show Committee for
10 years. Janet was employed
at Royston Animal Hospital
for over 15 years, retiring in
2010.
Survivors include her
husband of 49 years, Roger
Mazurek, Sr.; daughter and
her husband , Kelly and Mar
cus Penland; son and his wife,
Roger and Brandy Mazurek;
two sisters, Patty Boswell
and Kathy Jones; two Broth
ers, Billy and Howie Brown;
and seven grandchildren,
RJ Mazurek, Hailey Hunt,
Jacob, Madison, Ryan and
Jessica Humphries, and Gar-
ron Penland.

Carolyn Fay Perschka, 62,
passed away Tuesday, July
5, 2016.
Fay was born May 14,
1954, in Sharon, Pa. She
moved to Athens as a young
child, where she graduated
from Clarke Central High
School in 1972. She received
a B.S. Degree in Home Eco
nomics and a B.S. Degree
in Nursing, both from Bre-
nau College, Gainesville, Ga.
She served as a volunteer fire
fighter with the Neese/San-
ford Volunteer Fire Depart
ment and also worked with
the Oglethorpe County EMS.
She was currently employed
with Douglas Machines, Inc.,
Athens. She was an active
member of the Commerce
Ward of the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
She had lived in Madison
County for a number of
years.
Fay was preceded in death
by her parents, Dale O. and
Doris C. Perschka of Madi
son County; and her grand
parents, Clarence and Clara
Perschka and Floyd and Faye
Rapp, all of Sharpsville, Pa.
Survivors include her
brother and sister-in-law,
Gregory D. Perschka and
Ann; brother and sister-in-
law, Douglas A. Perschka

Bom in Stephens County
on November 8, 1939, he was
the son of the late Swayne
Pritchett and Francine Chit
wood Pritchett McDonald.
Mr. Pritch
ett was the
founder and
former owner
and operator of Pritchett
Tire. He was a United States
Army Reserve veteran and a
member of Damascus Baptist
Church. He enjoyed dirt track
racing, reading, and fishing
and camping with his grand
children. Mr. Pritchett had a
passion for antique autos and
was currently restoring his
1939 Ford.
Mr. Pritchett was preceded
in death by his brother, C.L.
Pritchett; and sister, Marlene
Pritchett Bennett.
Survivors include his wife,

son-in-law, Rhonda and

Hazel Richardson
WINDER - Hazel S. Rich
ardson, a long-time resident
of Winder, passed away
Monday the Fourth of July at
the age of 61.
Born in 1954 in Nash
ville, Tenn., Hazel never
met a stranger and was often
the center of any group she
found herself in. She was
an active member of Whis-
tleville Christian Church and
worked in their school. Bar-
row County Christian Acad
emy. She was a complex and
highly unique woman that
raised her two children as
a single mother with wit,
humor, love, and determina
tion. She was preceded in
death by her brothers Jerry
Wright and Sammy Stewart.
For the last 20 years, she
has been loved fiercely and
perfectly by her husband and
best friend, Jim Richardson.
She also leaves behind her
daughter, Kim Spears and her
husband Jason; grandchil
dren, Harlan and Sadie; son,
Adam Arrendale and his fian
cee Dee Dee; and stepson,
JP Richardson and his wife
Dana; brothers, Wayne Stew
art and his wife Rachel; and
Rick Stewart and his wife
Sherry; and several nieces
and nephews.
A memorial service will be
held at Whistleville Christian
Church Saturday, the 23rd of
July, at 2 p.m.

95, formerly of Duluth, died
Sunday, July 3, 2016.
Mrs. Sewell was born in
LaGrange, Ga. and worked
as a bus driver for 19 years
in Duluth with the Gwinnett
County School System.
