SPEAKING TO THE LIONS CLUB
DOES FAITH ALONE SAVE?
Many teach that one does not have to be
baptized to be saved (having been saved at
the point of faith), but Jesus said in Mark
16:16, “He that believeth and is baptized
shall be saved.”
If baptism is not essential for salvation, then why did Peter,
an inspired apostle, tell the people on the day of Penecost,
“Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus
Christ for the remission of sins”? About 3,000 people gladly
received his word and were baptized. The Lord added them
to the church that day. Acts 2.
