operator. He was a veteran of
the United States Navy. He was
passionate about NASCAR rac
ing.
Survivors include his daugh
ter, Julie Cheek Miller and hus
band Gordon, Dacula; grandson
Greyson Reed Miller, Dacula;
sisters, Barbara Cheek, Linda
Cheek White, Janet Cheek
Davis and husband Bruce;
brother, Paul T. Cheek Jr. and
wife Brenda, all of Hoschton;
and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by
his father, Paul T. Cheek, Sr.;
mother, Shirley Everlean Cheek;

Lord on Friday, July 29, 2016,
having victory over his six plus
years’ battle with cancer by
going to his heavenly home.
Mr. Dodd was born on Febru
ary 10, 1963, in Gainesville, the
son of the late Chester Edwin
and Margaret Davidson Dodd.
He was a member of Corne
lia Congregational Holiness
Church. Mr. Dodd was a self-
employed welder, fabricator,
and erector.

wood and was retired from Life
of Georgia Insurance Company
after a long career in the insur
ance industry. Mr. Hall was
preceded in death by his wife,
Barbara Joyce Whitehead Hall.

daughters, Charlotte D. Hall,
Gainesville, Cindy Hall, Pender
grass, and Celeste D. Tatum and
her husband Charlie, Oakwood;
one son, Chris D. Hall and his
wife Gail, Flowery Branch; one

27 great-grandchildren.

of Jackson, Ga., passed away

Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon.
She was born August 12,
1928, in Commerce, the daugh
ter of the late Henry Branham
Gober and Ruby Minnish
Gober. She was the wife of the
late Hal Douglas Kidd. She
was a medical transcriptionist
before her retirement and was
a member of Macedonia Bap
tist Church, where she taught a
Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her sons,
James Ray Kidd and Brenda,
Cumming, and Randy F. and
Diane R. Kidd, Mooresville,
N.C.; daughter, Kay and John
Waldron, Lizella; grandchildren,
Stephanie Armistead (Jason),

was a mem

merville for the past eight years.
Mrs. Patrick was preceded in
death by her husband of 55
years, Paul Patrick; her brother,
Willie T Austin; and sisters,
Rubye Harbin and Johnnie Wall.

land, N.J., and was attending
Bergen Community College
majoring in Sociology while
living with his "Jeepa” in New
Jersey. His quietness was often
misunderstood. “He tried his
too short life to understand oth
ers, to be accepting of all with
whom he came in contact. It
wasn't always easy, but that
never deterred him,” Jeepa said.
T.J. was well loved and
respected. He will be missed.
The family plans a celebra
tion of life for Paulk on Septem
ber 17, at Fort Yargo State Park
in Winder.
“If you are not able to attend
the celebration of life, please go
to your local animal shelter and
make a donation in T.J.’s name,”
family members stated.

A native of Barrow County,
Mr. Perry was the son of the late
Ernest Stephens and Ruth Irene
Sims Perry. Mr. Perry was a

terian Church for over 65 years.
In early years, he farmed and
then later retired from the Geor
gia Department of Agriculture.
Mr. Perry was preceded in death
by his wives, Shadie McCord
Perry and Jane Guthrie Perry;
and siblings, Ernest Arch Perry
and Naomi Perry Stambaugh.

88, passed away Tuesday, July
26, 2016.
Born in Alto on April 27,
1928, she was the daughter of
the late T.J. and Myrtle Poole
Wade. Mrs. Powell was an
employee of Carwood Manu
facturing for many years and
a member of Yonah Congre
gational Holiness Church. She
loved everyone and enjoyed
helping others. She especially
enjoyed making and giving fried
pies to her family and friends.
Mrs. Powell is known by her
nieces and nephews as “Jubie.”
In her spare time, she enjoyed
flower gardening. Mrs. Powell
was preceded in death by her
husband, Ernest Luther Powell;
brother, Oltha L. Wade; sister,
Lucille E. Wade; and brother-in-
law, Garnett Grier.
Survivors include her sis
ter, Gertrude Grier, Lula; sister
and brother-in-law, Joyce and
Eugene Franklin, Alto; sister-
