•Deputies were dispatched
to a home on Norwood Lane
last week after a caller said
someone there had a shotgun
during a domestic dispute.
The caller also stated that she
would be waiting on deputies
on the road near the house.
Deputy Joe McGuffm
arrived and met with the vic
tim, who was calm and told
him that she went to a home
on Norwood Lane to see the
offender. She said that there
were several people in the yard
drinking when he approached
her vehicle with a shotgun.
She said he put it in her face
and told her to “back the #$% A
up before I blow your head
off.” She said she told the man
she was calling the police and
he left. McGuffin pulled into
the yard and saw seven men
sitting there drinking beer. He
asked where the offender was
and no one said anything. A
couple of men said they did
not see anything happen but
the offender later showed up
and introduced himself. He
said the woman came over
to his house unwelcomed and
he told her to leave. The man
told McGuffin he then walked
away from his guest to get
some distance from her, but
never produced a weapon. He
further stated that he did not
own a gun and then volun
tarily consented to a search
of his home. No weapons or
ammunition were located in
the home.
