Crime
Six arrested for vandalizing vehicle on Mt. Zion Road
Six people, including two
juveniles, were arrested last
week after they reportedly
damaged a vehicle in a yard
on Mt. Zion Road.
Collen Denise Howe, 19,
of Winder, was charged with
criminal damage to property
second degree, Christopher
Jahmal Little. 21, of Mon
roe, was charged with one
count of party to a crime,
Dylan Shawn Mann, 17,
of Covington, was charged
with second degree crimi
nal damage to property and
Selena Elaine West. 17, of
Covington, was charged
with criminal damage to
property in the second de
gree.
Deputy William
Townsend was dispatched
to the residence regarding
multiple people causing
damage to a vehicle in a
yard there.
Townsend saw a vehicle
pulled off on the side of the
road facing him with its run
ning lights on which began
to come towards his patrol
car.
While the vehicle was
driving past him. Townsend
received information simul
taneously from dispatch
saying the the suspects were
leaving the home. Townsend
radioed Sgt. Daniel Smith,
who was behind him, to stop
the car so that he could con
tinue to the residence.
Two women were stand
ing outside near a graffi
ti-sprayed vehicle. One of
the women said they heard a
loud bang outside the front
door of the home and when
she looked, she saw sev
eral people outside with a
white male jumping up and
down on the hood of a car
and multiple females spray
painting the vehicle. One
of the women, later identi
fied as Howe, tried to entice
her to come off the porch
and fight her, along with a
second woman, later iden
tified as West. Mann was
later identified as the person
jumping up and down on
the hood. The woman said
she didn't personally know
them but believed that her
sister's ex-boyfriend. Little,
had sent them over there
because her sister wouldn't
let him see their kids. Sgt.
Smith advised Townsend of
the people he had in the car,
which matched those they
were looking for.
All of the occupants,
when questioned, acted as
if they had “no idea” what
officers were talking about.
Mann then asked if he could
speak with Townsend in pri
vate and he agreed.
Mann then told him he
had “nothing to do with the
car being messed with and
that he just stood back in the
shadows while the others
spray painted the car.” He
said that Ms. Howe was the
one jumping on the car.
There were also two ju
veniles in the car, one who
had red paint on her hand,
which she claimed was
blood, though no wound
was found.
After all of the occupants
exited the vehicle, four cans
of spray paint were located,
including, red, blue, black
and light green, which was
consistent with the colors
that had been sprayed onto
the vehicle. At this time, all
six occupants of the vehicle
were placed under arrest
and transported to the sher
iff’s office. Juvenile com
plaints were completed for
the underage occupants and
they were released to their
parents. The others were
booked into jail.

rested on family violence
charges recently following
an argument with his wife.
Keith Robert Kincaid,
29, was charged with bat
tery-family violence and
third degree cruelty to chil
dren.
Deputy Duston Stanley
was dispatched to Mathews
Road regarding a domestic
disturbance. While on the
way to this location, dis
patch advised him that the
male half had left the scene.
When he arrived he spoke
with the wife, who told him
that her husband (Kincaid)
and she had been arguing
since she got home from
work at around 2 p.m. be
cause he was reportedly
cursing at their youngest
child and she told him to
stop.
She said he started walk
ing through the house
knocking pictures off of
the wall and when he got
to the door of the house he
grabbed her by the throat
and pushed her up against
the wall, hitting her head
against the wall.
She said her head was
hurting and her neck was
hot and burning.
Stanley noted her neck
was red. She said all of this
happened while their young
est child was in the room.
In another arrest, Christo
pher Correiro Mota. 29, of
Athens, was charged with
battery-family violence and
a probation violation.
Deputy Gabe Dalton was
dispatched to County Living
Mobile Home Park on Hwy.
72 regarding a physical al
tercation between a couple
living there.
The incident was called in
by an individual who lives
in the mobile home park.
Dalton noted that the sher
iff’s office personnel have
responded to the same ad
dress numerous times for
domestic related incidents.
Dalton arrived on the
scene approximately five
minutes after being dis
patched and attempted to
make contact with the occu
pants of the lot in question
and knocked on the front
door for approximately
eight minutes but did not re
ceive a reply.
Dalton walked to the rear
of the home and began to
knock on the side of the
trailer and immediately ob
served a male subject in a
window who appeared to
be angry and was yelling
at him through the win
dow. The male subject was
ordered four times to come
to the door and speak with
Dalton and Sergeant Jason
Gaddy.
He was identified as Mota
and told why officers were
there.
Mota was extremely an
gry and stated that he and
his girlfriend had been in
the bed. Mota refused to
go outside of the residence
and did not allow officers to
enter the home after they in
formed him that they want
ed to speak to his girlfriend.
Mota instead began to yell
for his girlfriend.
She came to the door and
officers observed her to
possess a laceration on her
upper lip and left side of
her face (temple area) and
a “grip-type” mark on her
neck, a swollen nose and
swollen, bruised eyes.
She told officers she fell
off the porch and Mota
agreed that this was how her
wounds had happened.
At that point, the couple
was separated and the girl
friend was asked multiple
times how she was wound
ed. She gave two different
versions of the incident. She
would not make eye contact
with Dalton when asked if
Mota ever assaults her, ac
cording to the report. She
also appeared very sad and
was not defensive at all.
Mota was arrested and his
girlfriend began to panic,
according to the report, say
ing “he's gonna' think I’m a
snitch.”
She was told about the
process of obtaining a Tem
porary Protection Order
(TPO) and of services pro
vided to victims of domes
tic violence. She allowed
officers to photograph her
wounds.

having difficulty breath
ing. He was believed to be
overdosing on heroin or opi
ates, according to the report.
EMS was called and Dalton
administered Narcan to the
victim. He told Dalton he
had taken valium before he
passed out.
Dalton noted that he is
familiar with the victim
and the home and that it is
known to “be heavily in
volved in the distribution
and consumption of illegal
narcotics.” The victim re
fused to be transported to
the hospital for further treat
ment.
Due to the living con
ditions of the home, con
sumption of illegal narcotics
there and there not being
any immediate family mem
bers at the location. Dalton
contacted Madison County
DFCS personnel and in
