Eural Eugene Euratis “Gene”Adams Jr.
JEFFERSON — Eural Eugene Euratis “Gene”
Adams Jr., 84, Jefferson, entered into rest on
Wednesday November 27, 2019.
Mr. Adams was born
in Orlando, Florida, the
son of the late Eural Eu
gene Euratis Adams Sr.
and Emma Stallin Ad
ams. Mr. Adams served
in the United States
Army as a helicopter
pilot, retiring with the
rank of Lieutenant Col
onel. Mr. Adams is pre
ceded in death by his
parents, one sister, and
daughter, Kim Brookshire.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Petty Adams,
Jefferson; sons, Pete Adams and his wife Kathy,
Jefferson, Wayne Adams, Jefferson, and Steve
Adams and his wife Tammy, Gainesville; daugh
ter, Sandy, and her husband Eddie, Jefferson; son-
in-law, Wade Brookshire, Pendergrass; 14 grand
children, and 20 great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral service: Friday, November 29, 2019 at
3 p.m. from the chapel of Evans Funeral Home
with the Rev. Eric Shelton officiating with buri
al to follow in Evans Memory Gardens with full
Military Honors.

2019 from 1-3 p.m., prior to the service at the fu

passed away on Monday, December 2, 2019 at
Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Braselton.

HULL — Colleen C. Berryman, 89, Hull,
passed away on November 30, 2019 at Silverleaf
Memory Care of Athens.
Born in Dahlonega on
March 22, 1930, Col
leen was the daughter
of the late Charlie and
Nora Lee Gheeren Call
away. In addition to her
parents, she was pre
ceded in death by her
first husband, Talmage
Stewart, and second
husband J.L. Berry
man; brothers Tommy
Callaway and Ralph
Callaway; baby sister, Betty Callaway; and infant
brother, Charles Callaway.
Colleen is survived by her husband, Bobby
Parks, Hull; son, Danny Stewart (Rhonda), Col
bert; daughters, Wanda Strickland (Thomas),
Hull, and Donna Ward (Mike), Athens; grand
children, Janet Fortson, Karen Edwards, Brian
Ward, Jessica DiPietro, Kimberly Marsden, Matt
Stewart and Adam Stewart; brothers, Ray Calla
way and Bobby Callaway; sisters, Doris Lamey,
Peggy Deal and Joy Turner-Brudon; husband’s
daughters, Jane Loop and Sandra Broadnax; 13
great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and
nephews.
Colleen loved cooking, gardening, and most of
all her family.
The family would like to thank the staffs at
Compassionate Care Hospice and Silverleaf of
Athens for their wonderful and loving care.
Pallbearers will be Brian Ward, Matt Stewart,
Adam Stewart, Allen Fortson, Rich DiPietro and
Jared Marsden.
Funeral service: Wednesday, December 4, 2019
at 1 p.m. at Lord and Stephens East Chapel with
Chaplain Dennis Duck and the Rev. Raymond
Duncan officiating. Interment will follow at Grove
Chapel Church Cemetery.

HOMER — Glenda Dalton Boling, 74, Homer,
passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2019.

erts) Dalton. Mrs. Bol

School and North Geor
gia Technical College.
She was owner/operator
of Books With A’peal
and was formerly em
ployed with Standard
Telephone Company. She was a charter member
of Charity Baptist Church.
Survivors include her loving husband of 55
years, Jerry L. Boling, Homer; daughter, Vicki
Boling, Homer; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and
Amy Boling, Homer; brother and sister-in-law,
Milton and Mellisa Dalton, Homer; grandchildren
and spouses, Megan and Will Atha, Daulton and
Macy Boling.
Funeral service: Friday November 29, 2019 at
11 a.m. at Charity Baptist Church, with the Revs.
Scott Smith and Billy Burrell officiating. Inter
ment will follow at Charity Baptist Church Cem
etery.

James Thomas “Stem”Brawner
MAYSVILLE — James Thomas “Stem” Brawn
er, 75, Maysville, died Sunday, December 1, 2019
at his residence.
Mr. Brawner was born in Carnesville to Dor
othy Whitsel Brawner, Commerce, and the late
Roy Brawner. He was retired from Allen B. Sibley
Mills.
In addition to his father, Mr. Brawner was pre
ceded in death by his son, Scott Brawner.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Brawner is sur
vived by his wife, Judy Elaine Lord Brawner,
Maysville; sons, Greg Shore, Nicholson, and Gene
Shore, Commerce; sisters, Barbara Barry, Athens,
and Maggie Craddock, Carnesville; brother, Ben
Brawner, Commerce; four grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren.
Funeral service: Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at
2 p.m. at the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home
with the Rev. Robert Burt officiating. Interment
will follow in Jackson Memorial Gardens.

Gladys Ruth Hardy Cochran
MAYSVILLE — Gladys Ruth Hardy Cochran,
89, Maysville, died Friday, November 29, 2019
at her residence.
Mrs. Cochran was born in Commerce to the
late Clyde Thomas Hardy Sr. and Florence Eddie
Minish Hardy. She was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cochran was
preceded in death by her husband, O.R. Cochran;
and sons, Russell “Rusty” Cochran and Richard
“Rick” Cochran.
Mrs. Cochran is survived by her daughter, Pau
la Tolbert (Bobby), Commerce; sister, Florence
Hardy, Maysville; brother, Junior Hardy, Mays
ville; and grandchildren, Summer Wood (Ryan),
Clint Tolbert, Adam Cochran, Abby Mansfield
(Fred), Amber Gilbert (Brantley), and Greyson
Cochran.
Funeral service: Monday, December 2, 2019
at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral
Home with the Revs. Clay Hardy and Bill Ma
nus officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise
Cemetery.

Mary Kathryn Temple Culberson
DANIELSVILLE — Mary Kathryn Temple Culberson,
86, Danielsville, died November 24,2019.
She was the daughter of
the late Perry D. and Eliz
abeth McEwen Temple.
Kathryn lived the majority
of her life in Danielsville,
Madison County, Georgia.
She was preceded in death
by her husband, Homer Mc
Clellan (Mac) Culberson;
and two brothers William
Temple and James Temple.
Kathryn is survived by
one brother, Charles P.
(Junne) Temple; four chil
dren, David Culberson, Gayle Davis, Karen (Mike) Mar
tin, and Perry (Tracy) Culberson; seven grandchildren; and
11 great-grandchildren.
Memorial service: Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at the
Lord and Stephens Funeral Home Chapel in Danielsville.
Pastor Calvin Ward of Danielsville presided. Her remains
were laid to rest in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Ath
ens, next to her husband Mac.

George “Sonny” Raymond Fortson
COLBERT — George “Sonny” Raymond Fortson, 69,
Colbert, passed away November 29,2019.
He was the son of the
late Tom and Imogene
Fortson. Sonny was also
preceded in death by two
grandchildren. Jodi Torres
and Kaycee Phelps. He
was a member of Colbert
United Methodist Church.
Sonny worked in pipe
line/cable for many years.
He loved a good game of
poker after a ride on the
bike. He appreciated the
simple life and enjoyed
good conversations. He was a proud American and an
old soul. A great man to many. He was widely loved and
will be greatly missed.
Family to receive friends: Saturday November 30,
2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral service: Sunday December 1,2019 at 2 p.m. at
Colbert United Methodist Church with Pastor Joe Gun-
by officiating, Sonny will lie in state at the church from
1 to 2 p.m. The interment will be in Colbert Cemetery.
Survivors include: children, Lisa Bolin, Katherine
(Nick) Phelps, Brandy (Kyle) Kriveruchka and Cody
(Brandy) Fortson; sisters and brother, Jean Simmons,
Sue Jenkins, Deborah Rogers, Rhonda Stewart and Tim
Fortson; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and
several nieces and nephews.

Virginia Kay McWhirter Garrison
JEFFERSON — Virginia Kay McWhirter Garrison, 80,
Jefferson, passed away on Friday, November 29,2019.
Mrs. Garrison was bom
to the late Barron Polk
McWhirter and the late Hat
tie Thurmond McWhirter.
Mrs. Garrison had worked
for the Social Security
Administration, the Redd
House, Jefferson and was
a homemaker. In addition
to her parents, Mrs. Garri
son was preceded in death
by her husband, James L.
Stewart.
Survivors include her
daughter, Nedra McColskey and her husband Steve, Jef
ferson; son, Brian Stewart, Jefferson; grandchildren, Josh
Ryan and his wife Amanda, Athens, Jace McColskey, Jer
emy McColskey and Jennifer McColskey, all of Jefferson,
Jessica Buffaloe and her husband Marc, Raleigh, N.C.; and
three great-grandchildren, Brian Buffaloe, David Buffaloe
and Nick Buffaloe also survive.
Funeral service: Sunday, December 1, 2019 at 2 p.m. in
the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny
Ray and William Puckett officiating. The burial will follow
in Jackson Memorial Gardens with Josh Ryan, Jace Mc
Colskey, Jeremy McColskey and Jonathan Ingram hon
ored as pallbearers.Mrs. Garrison’s Redd House family
