CHILDREN OF FRIENDSHIP BAPTIST TO PRESENT ‘CAKE’DEC. 15
The children at Friendship Baptist Church will present its Christmas Play Sunday Dec. 15 at 5 p.m. titled
CAKE (Christmas Act of Kindness Experiment). The children are pictured acting out the meaning of their
play by taking food items they collected to Madison County Food Bank. They also went to Comer Nursing
Home to present their Play “CAKE” to the residents. “Everyone is invited to the church to enjoy this Christ
mas play presented by children and youth,” organizers said. Friendship Baptist is located at 275 Friendship
Church Road just off Hwy. 98 West between Danielsville and Ila.
•The annual Christmas
Singing Festival at the
Gospel Tabernacle, Watson
Mill Road, Carlton, will be
held Saturday, Dec. 14, at
6 p.m. Several groups and
other singers who have
performed this year at the
Tabernacle, as well as the
Southern Travelers, will
perform during the Festi
val, organizers said. “Come
and bring a friend to this
free concert,” organizers
said. Concessions will also
be available.

have a gospel singing Sun
day, Dec. 15. Singers Debra

24, at 6 p.m. “Please come

•Gordon’s Chapel
UMC, Hull, will hold its
monthly food giveaway
and clothes closet opening
Dec. 20. “These food and
clothes giveaways are held
for those who are in need of
food and clothing for their
immediate family,” church
officials said. Please note
that all food and clothes
distributions are on a first
come, first serve basis.
The clothing giveaways
are fully funded by Gor
don’s Chapel UMC and the
church works in coordina
tion with the NEGA Food
Bank for food giveaways.
The food bank is held at the
Sanford Community Cen
ter, 6495 Nowhere Road,
Hull and the clothes closet
is held in the green build
ing next to the community
center.
•Colbert United Meth
odist Church, 68 N. Sec
ond Street, is selling cloth
bags of raw shelled peanuts
for $6 per bag as a Meth
odist Youth fundraiser for
a mission trip. The three-
pound bags are from Plains
and make good Christmas
gifts and candy bags, or

•Freedom Church of
God and the Food Bank
of Northeast Georgia will
provide a free food box
to those in need (recipient
must be present) on Dec.
17, 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the
church, located at 3428
Neese Commerce Road,
Commerce. The boxes will
be given out on a first come,
first served basis. Organiz
ers ask that recipients not
arrive before 3 p.m. as the
parking lot will be closed.
