CoUNty Court.-—Thd semi-annual session of this Court for WhitfieM county, is being held this week. A ‘cbqsiderable amount of business has been disposed of on the common law docket. At this writing (Wednesday evening) the c-riminnl docket has not been reached. We predict that with the modifications of tins Court, adop ted by the late session of the Legisla ture, it will become a popular branch •oi the Judiciary. *- Dalton Saloon and Variety Store. —W e invite the attention of the lovers of good things to the advertisement of R. P. O’Neil, to be found in this week’s paper. Rob is a clever fellow, and made a good soldier. llis energy and industry has enabled him to get to gether a large stock of desirable arti cles for families and housekeepers, which he wants to sell. It is well known that we are an ultra temperance man, and of course have no experience as to the quality of some portions of his sto<?4t * but if men will drink we have no'doubt Rob’s liquors will make them drunij as quick as any they can find. Paring Burglary.— On Sunday night last some daring thief entered the dwelling house of Mr. J. A. Blan ton in this city, and going into Mr. B.’s bedroom, relieved him and his wife of a line overcoat and some other articles of clothing, with Mrs. Ik’s portemon ey, containing a small amount of mon ey. 'The thief also carried off two pieces of meat. Mr. Blanton consid ers his losses about SSO. The burglar 'effected an entrance by raising a win dow sash, and the inmates of the house believe they were rendered partially insensible by the administration of chloroform. Our citizen;;< should load up their ol<l, shot guns and be prepared to give such rascals a warm reception. Removal.— Our neighbor and friend, C’apt. Christian, has moved his Har ness Shop to the back room in the same building he formerly occupied. A door from flic rear enters Iris apart- j roent, where he may be found at all hours of the day busily plying his vo- [ cation. As his shop is directly under our sanctum we can vouch for his be ing as constant and faithful in his la bors to “ reconstruct ” his fallen for tunes as any man we know. He has a handsome stock of Bridles, Buggy and Wagon Harness, and “ sich like,” on hand, and will make to order, on short notice, anything wanted in his line. In the same room may be found that ancient disciple of St. Crispan, Lind sey Fortune, who exhibited to us this morning the identical same lap stone ! upon which he hammered his leather ! over thirty years ago in the mountains of North Carolina, where we”kncw him when we were a boy. During all those years he has had the character of an honest man and a faithful workman Territorializing. — A fanatical Rad ical, named Bundy or Brumby, has in troduced a lull into Congress to make : four Territories out of the district of Texas [communicateil] Dalton, Jan. 9, 13-67.
