Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rosenheim
; entertained at the DeSoto on Satur
day evening in honor of Mr. and
Mrs. S< Rosenbaum, of Richmond.
The table decorations surpassed any
thing ever seen in this city before,
the center piece being a mound of
Easter lilies,; with a small electric
light showing in the heart of each
flower. Amongst their guests on
this occasion were. Mr.' and ;.Mrs.
B. H. Levy, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence
Lippman, Mr. and Mrs. A. Vetsburg,
Mr. and Mrs. Emil Newman and a

The opera, “ Little un
der the direction'of Munager Baker,
is progressing faniously. This opera
will be given for the benefit of the
Temple Guild. ■> . .
The S. S? N. C. J. W'/held an IM-"
portant meeting Tuesday morning
to discuss the letter recently sent
out from Chicago: to the different
sections throughout the country.
Amongst other things, New York
was decided on by the Savannah
section as the fittest place to hold
the next Convention and October
the best month. The Council in
this city is in a very flourishing
condition. Mrs. Grotta, President
of the N. C. J. W. of Newark, New
Jersey, has been spending the winter
in Savannah, and has lent her pres
ence to quite a number of circle
meetings, much to the delightof the
members.

The preparations for the Children’s
Ball, to be given under the auspices
of the Y. M. H. A. on Wednesday
afternoon, are about completed, and
a most enjoyable time is looked for
ward to by all the little tots in the

Thursday evening the-Purim Ball
of the Y. M. H. A. will take place,
and promises to be one,of the most

Mr. and Mrs. have
leased their picturesque home on
Gaston street, and are spending the
season at the DeSoto. .
Mrs. Jacob Lippman entertained
very delightfully and informally on
Wednesday afternoon. Cards were
played and very pretty prizes were
won. Some of those present were
Mrs. M. Rosenbaum,< Miss Adele
Rosenbaum and Mrs." Sidney Rosen
baum of Richmond/Mrs. Lawrence
Lippman, Mrs. Lee Roy Myers, Mrs.
Abram Vetsburg, Mrs. H. H. Gains
burgh, and Mrs. Leopold Adler.
The Euchre Club was entertained
at the DeSoto last Saturday evening.
The prizes were won by Mrs. Leo
pold. Adler and Miss Adele Rosen*
baum and Mr. Myers and

Mrs. J. Robinson entertained with
a beautiful tea oh Friday, afternoon
in honor of Mrs. N.'Dewaid and her

Last week was quite a gala one for
Nashville society. The home ladies,
both married and single, are vieing
with one another in their attempts
to make the time pass pleasantly for
the visitors.

Monday afternoon, the occasion be
ing a euchre party in honor of their
visitors. The house was tastefully
decorated with flowers and palms,
and to each score card was attached
a pretty souvenir.
1 Miss Kit Lindauer, of Illinois, cap
tured the first prize; Miss Bettie
Cohen the second. A dainty lunch
was served at about dusk, and the
table decorations of white and green
proved a fitting background for the
brilliant array of cut glass and silver.
; Mrs. M. Sobel, of North Spruce
street, entertained her many friends
last Tuesday and Wednesday after
noons in honor of her sister, Miss
Kit Landauer, of Illinois.
i Mr. Ben. Herman left Thursday
evening for the East. He will sail
for Europe on the 29th inst., to be
gone six or seven weeks. Wc wish
him a pleasant voyage.
The violet luncheon given by Mrs.
N. Martin at her beautiful residence
on North Ivy street, last Thursday
afternoon in honor of Mrs. Rebecca
Lorenthal, of Birmingham, proved
one of the most artistic affairs of the
season? The modest violet peeped
out from every nook.ani corner of
the house, ladening the air with its
delicate fragrance, and at each plate
of the artistically arranged table
nestled a bunch of these sweet
flowers. . •
The beautiful home of Mrs. ll.'
Ellis, Vauxhall Place, was brilliant
with lights last Thursday evening
and a select number of Iriends were
charmingly entertained.
The “Valentine Euchre” given
by Miss Bettie Cohen at her home on
South Cherry street, was most
unique in every, detail. The score
cards were little valentines of origi
nal verso. - Mrs. J. Tugendrich was
the fortunate prize winner. The af
fair was given in honor of the visit
ing Doves. :
