For All Kinxls> of Work
is fast winning fator in the household, a s
shown by the rapidly increasing sales.
This Mew Family Machine is capa
ble of a range and variety of work such a;
was once thought impossible to perform by
machinery. IVe claim and can show that
it is the cheapest, most beautiful, delicately
arranged, nicely adjusted, easily operated,
and smoothly running of all the family
sewing machines. It is remarkable, not
only for the range and variety of Ds sew
ing, but also for the variety and different
kinds of texture whicn it will sew with
equal facility and perfection, using silk
twist, linen, or cotipn thread, fine or
making the inter-elastic lock stitch, alike
on both sides of the fab die' sewn. Thus
beaver cloth, or leather, may be sewn with
great strength and uniformity of stitch ,
and,, n a moment, this willing and never
wearying instrument, may be adjusted for
fine work on gauze or gossamer tissue, or
motuckingi of tarlatan, or milling, or'al
abbe any other work which delicate fingers
mosteven knownto perform.
Ours having long been the popular and
practical machines for manufacturing pur
poses. some dealers, using “ the tideks of
trade,” take advantage of this in trying to
persuade purchasers that our Family Ma
chine is not equal, for family sewing to our
Manufacturing Machines for manufacturing
purposes. But L urchasers— and they are

have not been jnercly ersuaiH-d, but con
vinced that our new fam. ’’machine embod
ies new and essential prine .’es—simplicity
of construction ; case of operation ; uni
formity of precise action at any speed ; ca
pacity for r m ge and variety of work, fine
or coarse—leaving all rivals behind it.

amounted to 211,697 machines, being a

It may be farther stated that the sales of

The following is a correct report of the
tales of sewing machines made by the lead
ing companies during the p !k st tour years.
A careful examination of the figures wifi
show that the “SINGER” have largely in

corresponding decrease is shown in the sales
reported by all other companies. This is a
highly satisfactory result to us, and is only
another proof that “merit always has its re
