Adjourned Sine Die.
At longth, after thirty-eight days of
continuous and arduous labor, the Con
stitutional Convention of Georgia,
which embodied much of the genius,
statesmanship and wisdom of the com
monwealth, has completed its task and
returned to the bosom of the constitu
encies they were chosen to represent.
It will require time and study to an
alyze and properly interpret ail of the
provisions of the new Constitution j but
from the previous journal of daily pro
ceedings and a cursory glance at the
instrument as a whole, with very few
exceptions, we are prepared to indor-e
tho document, and consider it the best,
most comprehensive and judicious com
pendium of fundamental law ever preo
sen Led to this or any other State in the
Union. So greatly do the wise and
salutary provisions iank and overbal
ance the defects that it is not probable,
outside of the railroad interests aud
certain personal influences, that any
very serious opposition can be arrayed
against its ratification by the people,
But it is too soon to prophesy and
we can only add in conclusion that we
are satisfied that the convention was ac
tuated by the purest patriotism in all of
its deliberations, and it is not probable
that its work could be bettered if sub
mitted to a dozen revisury bodies elect
ed by the people.
Now, let us push on the work of rat
ification, and sacrifice all private and
selfish aims upon the altar of our coun
try. — Macon Telegraph and Messcn ->

Because health is of the first consider
