THE NEW FAMILY SINGER sewing Machine. WITH ATTACHMENTS for All Kind* of Work. ip fad winning favor in the household, a s shown by the rapidly increasing sales. This Sow Family Machine is capi ble of a range and variety of work such a was once thought impossible to perform by machinery. \Vc claim and can show that it is the cheapest, most beautiful, delicately arranged, nicely adjusted, easily operated, and smoothly running of all the family s-wing machines. It is remarkable, not only fo the range and variety of its sew ing, but also for the variety and different kinds of texture whien it will sew with mjupl facility and perfection, using silk twist, linen, or cotton thread, fine or coarse, malting the inter elastic lockstitch, alike oil both sides of the fabric sewn. Thus beaver cloth, or leather, may be sewn with great strength and uniformity of stitch , and.ina moment, this willing and never wearying instrument may be adjusted for line work on gauze or gossamer tissue, or motuckingi of tarlatan, or ruffling, or al most any other work which delicate fingers have been known to perforin. Ours having long been the popular and practical machines tor manuf i during pur poses, some dealers, using “ 'lie tricks of trade,” take advantage of this in trying to persuade purchasers that our t amily Ma chine is not equal, for family sewing to our Manufacturing Machines for manufacturing purposes. But purchasers —and they are apt to examine carefully before choosing— kave not been merely persuaded, but con vinced that onr sew family machine embod ies new and essential principles—simplicity of construction ; ease of operation ; uni formity of precise action at any speed ; ca pacity ferriage and variety of work, fine 9r course -leaving all rivals behind it. Sewing Machine Sales of 1874. The table of sewing machine sales for 1874 show that, our sales for that yeai amounted to 211,697 machines, being a large increase over the sales of the previ ous yeatp The table shows that our sales exceed those of any other company for the period napped, by the number of 148,832 .machines, nearly Three Times Those of any othe Com pany. It may be further stated that the sales of 1873, as compared with the sale cf .872. show a relatively large increas beyond the '■ales n5 other makers. For instance in 1872 we sold 43.000 more machines than any other compai f whereas, in 1873, the sales were An’ ii 074 our 5...-* waie 148,852 Machines More Than Any Other Company. OFFICIAL REPORT. The following is a correct report of 11m j.jdes of sewing machines made by the, lead ing companies dining the past tour yearn A careful examination of the figures aw: show that the “ SINGER” have largely in creased each year, while on the contrary, a corresponding decrease is shown in the saic> reported by all other companies. This is r 1 ighly satisfactory result to us, and is onh another preof that “merit always has its re ward.” Sciciiiy Machine Sales far 1874. Machines sold.
