The Verdict. — A jury is supposed
to represent fairly the general intelli
gence of the community from which it
is taken. The guilt or innocence of a
party, the value or worthlessness of an ar
ticle is established by its verdict. A
verdict has been rendered by a jury
Composed of the best men taken from
every country on the giobe ; the evi
dence was clear and impartial and thou
sands of witnesses gave their testimony.
I he trial was a long one, occupying ten
years, and the jury have at last brought
ib a verdict which was, “That Dr. Tutt’s
I‘ills possesses more power over disease
than any medicine invented since the
foundation of the world.” It is pro
nounced by all a righteous verdict. 1
Editor Herald: Dear Sir— [n
the Cave Spring Enterprise of a recent
date, w r e noticed au article on the Cher
okee Iron Cos., near Cedar Town, f
which A. J. West is Piesident The
writer of this article in speaking of the
dam built by that company across Cedar
creek, said that it would “last forever.”
We have visited these works, and fully
endorse the statements contained in the
Enterprise. That writer, however,
neglected to give the reason why this
dam would last forever. On this point
we can give the desired information, as
we have critically examined the work
and made particular enquiries in regard
to the material used. The Howard
Georgia Cem< nt was used in its
construction If the Enterprise had only
stated what kind of cement tiie datu
was laid in ail remarks as to its strength
and durability would have been super
fiuous. it is a clearly est tbii.-hed fact
that the Howard has no tquai, either
American or toreign.
Wherevei it has been tested with ether
cements the character of superiority
claimed far it has been fully sustained
It sets quicker, is ol a more beautiful
color and is less affected by exposure
than any other cement known.
It has been tried side by side with the
English, Cortland aud Roseudaie, am
w ..tu thus tried it has never.in one .-ingle
instance if fed to receive the preference.
We,us Georgians, should feel flattered
by the success that has attended this
article wherever it has been introduced.

Bounteous nature has blessed u<* with
everything necessary lor the welfare and
greatness of a people, and all that we
have to do is to utilize her generous

More has been said ! ere than was
at first intended. We merely wished to
call attention to the fact that it was the
Howard GeergF C< meat that has given
the Cherokee Iron Cos. a dam such ;
reputation for strength and durability.
The Enterprise either did n t know or
neglected to give the name of the ce

is due.” M. R. S.

Many of our readers may not already

most interests toe people of this section
is the fact, that his very great stock of
books, paper, school apparatus, musical

as a fact of everyday observation, that
the people know Ouibeig, know bis
