GUCKENHEIMER, SCHWARZ & CO. / - i Manufacturers of Crackers and Can dies. It always affords us pleasure o call at tention to our manufacturing enterprises, and it is an especial pleasure when the subject is one so deserving of special men tion as Messrs. Guckenheimer, Schwarz & Co.’s large Steam Bakery and Candy Factory, located on the corner of Barnard and Bay streets, in our city. The entire establishment is under the immediate su pervision of Mr. John Schwarz (the man aging partner), who has mustered to his aid a full corps of experienced workmen in each department. The Bakery is sup plied'with all of the latest improvements in machinery, and the rapidity in which they turn out Crackers, Biscuits, etc., is truly remarkable; and just here we would say that parties visiting this establishment will at once be struck with the neatness and cleanliness which characterizes every de partment. In the Bakery can be sedn any thing in the shape of Crackers or Biscuits that can be desired. They manufacture everything in that line, and we would call especial attention to their “ Prince Alberts,” “Swan’s Down,” “Gilt Edge,” “Sweet Angel,” and “Star of the Sea” Crackers and Biscuits, which have become so popu lar in our Southern trade. THE CANDY FACTORY. This department occupies the entire up per floors of their large establishment, and turns out daily some of the finest Plain and Fancy Candies ever offered in our market. Among their numerous brands of Candies, we notice the “ Virgin Candy,” “ Gucken heimer, Schwarz & Co.’s French Mixed,” “ Cream Bon Bons,” “ Decorated Fruits,” and all kinds of Plain and Fancy Candies. These goods stand unsurpassed for purity and quality, and we would remind purcha sers tnat “ full weight,” “ first-class goods” and prompt attention to orders are some of the numerous good features for which this firm are noted. He is also agent for the Hazard Powder Company, whose powder bears a world-wide reputation for excellence. THE LEADERS IN THE FRUIT TRADE. P. H. Ward & Co., Importers and Dealers in Fruits and Vegetables of all Kinds. By reference to our advertising colums the reader will find the card of P. H. Ward & Co., who are the oldest Importers and Wholesale Dealers in the Fruit and Vege table trade in the city of Savannah. Owing to the heavy orders which this firm receive for Foreign Fruits, they were compelled to purchase a schooner last winter to ply reg ularly between this port and the West In dies, where they have a regular agent who purchases direct from the growers all their Fruit. In addition to these large supplies they charter other vessels, thus enabling them to offer their Fruit lower than any one else in Savannah. They also handle more Florida Oranges, Apples, Bananas, Cocoanuts, Pineapples, Lemons, Potatoes, Onions than any two houses here.
