THE4TKE.
Farbish’s Fifth Avenue Combination
made their Appearance at oar Theatre
last evening, and was greeted by one of
the largest and most fashionable audiences
of the season. “Divorce” was announced
*on the bill of fare for the evenings enter
tainment, and was presented in manner
both pleasing to the audience, and highly
creditable to ea?h and every member of
the company. The character of “Fanny
Ten Eyck’ loan! an able representative
in Miss Georgie Langley, and “La Ten
Eyck” was well cast when it fell to the
lot of Miss Ada Monk, she is rd accom
plished actress, her fine figure, sweet
face, and good elocution made her a fit
ting representative of fashionable society.
Mr. Boniface as Alfred Adrianse, Mr.
Porier as Captain Lynde and Mr. Love
day as DJWitt, were finely rendered, Mr-
Hawk as the indefatigueable Lawer Jilt,
and Mr. Farren as the detective are also
deserving of much credit for a fine im
personation of their respective characters.
To-night the great Parisian success en
titled “Mons. Alphonse” will be presented
with a full casi and appropriate scenic ef
fect. Sie programme on first page.

We regret very much indeed to see that
some of our Tueatre goers still keep up
the bad practice of rushing for the doors
just before the close of the last scene in
the performance. Now that is very im
polite, and very discourteous to the au
dience as well as to the actors and actress.
”We know of course that our young men
do not have any such intentions, but it
looks so rediculious so see a number of
young men some old one too) rush
from their seats before the curtain falls
just as if the building was on fire, or as if
the manager had offered a premium to
the first man out, keep your seats gentle
men, for the last scene is often the most
interesting, and there is no extra charge
for retaining your seat until the curtain
falls;
