The Savannah Morning News purchased exhibition space at the Annual Fair of the Agricultural and Mechanical Association of Georgia and published the Fair Expositor, or Savannah Morning News, Jr. at the fair. The fair ran from December 30 to January 3, 1872, and the paper circulated free of charge. The Fair Expositor was printed on a newly acquired press as a demonstration and advertising opportunity, and the paper ceased publication after the fair closed.
