Iron as a medicine for men, women and children is indisputably the best tonic. But it has its disadvantages— its unpleasant effects. That is, in the forms in' which it is usually prepared. It causes constipation, discolors the teeth (a great objection'}. Conse quently it makes enemies out of its friends. There is, in fact, but one preparation of iron which is free from any objec tionable results. This valua ble remedy is (frown’s fron Ritters which can be taken by the youngest child with impunity. It is the best strengthening medicine for all ages. In cases of malaria, weak ness, low fever, spring fever, overwork, its effects are wonder ful. It rebuilds the system and en riches the blood. A- HOW A LARGE BUSINESS WAS BUILT UP Benjamin Franklin, tie first American philosopher, said: “Honesty is the best policy”—and the truth of the phrase is agreed to by everybody. It is only by the exercise of absolute honesty that any strong permanent business can be buit up. Dishonest methods, false representations, unmet promises or deception of any kind, will either cripple or destroy business. It is honest and efficient work by meeting every promise that he makes by candid, straightforward and truthful conduct that Di. Bioadfoot, the specialist, has built up such a large practice in diseases peculiar to men and women which he now possesses. Dr. Broad foot asserts that he can and does cure certain diseases, and he has testimony from you friends and neighbors proving this assertion. M< mphis w n the first game in the sixth inning, at which point Ramsey, who was do ing the pitching fi r Savannah, lost his head, alter which he refused point blank to pitch any longer. Memphis made two runs in the tilth inning o i a base on balls, a wild pitch and a base hit. Uy a combination of errors, fumbles and hits Memphis sent five men across the plate, winning the game. O’Meara was up and hit for one base. Flaherty got his base on balls, after wlfic’i both mm stole a base. Bolan hit to right field and O’Meara and Flaherty scored Ball got his base on an error of Larocque’s and went to third on Neal's hit. Smith was given his base on balls, Goodenough was forced out, and Kennedy hit to Butler, who made an error, allowing Bolan, Bail and Neal to Cere. Lutenburg and O’Meaia flew out. Savannah could not re cover from this, and although Peppers was put in to pitch, which, ot course, gave the game new life, Memphis won. Savannah made one run each in the fust and third innings, and two in the ninth. The Second t.ami'. Savannah also lost lhe second game, after having it well in hand through its lack of sup port of Peppers, who .pitched a magnificent game of ba 1 for twelve innings, three ol which were played in the first game. The playing of the Savannah team was disgusting in the extreme. A batter could hit the ball a few t.'et tn in home base and nearly make a circuit of the bases, the fielders did not seem to have their minds on lhe game at all, as one of the Memphis players ran from second base home while McCloskey held the ball in his hands. Neither side scored until the third inning, when McCloskey’s boys made three runs on ft ur hits, two errors and two stolen bases. Memphis also made one run in this inning on I -irocque’s error, which allowed Bill, who had been given his base on balls, to score on Mason's liner to second. Savannah made two runs in the next inning on two errors, three hits, and a stolen base. WON IN THE I II TH AND SEVENTH. Memphis won the game in the fifth and seventh innings, making three runs in the former and two in the latter inning by stupid, dull, listless playing on the pait of the local. Savannah could not score alter the third inning. The spectators left the ground thoioughly disgusted with the playing ot Mc- Closkey’s team. Tire players on both sides, as well as the crowd, were very much dis satisfied with Mr Kelly's umpiring. Take the Florida Central and Peninsula ion e to Suwanee Springs. He is perhaps 50 years old, with gray mustache and beard, and looks at you with a pair of eves almost keen enough to read one’s soul lie has the reputa tion of being the best financier in Dalton and has, for a number of years been alderman and chairman of the finance committee, both ot which offices he now holds. He is held in high esteem by all who know him and has never been beaten for an office within the gilt of Dalton’s citizens. Among other honors conferred upon him, he was, for quite a while, mayor. He is a man of few words, attends strictly to business and keens his own counsel. Many a man who had been less successful in life, if suddenly thrown into possession of one filth of the capital prize of the Louisiana state lottery would have informed the whole town of his good luck before night, but not so with W.- it. Pruden Outside (4 the cashier at Dalton’s bank not a man in town knows that he is $15,000 richer to-day than he was a month ago. The local papers tried to run down the rumor of a capital prize having been drawn by some one in the town, but failed signally. The Constitution’s correspondent, therefore, had small hopes of getting much information when he asked Mr. Prti.l n if he really had gotten $15,000. He replied: ‘■No, sir; I did not get it. 1 wish I had.” “But we have absolute proof that you drew the money from the New Orleans National bank.” “I do not deny that, bu' I got it for some one else and not myself. I simply acted as I agent in Hie matter ” ' Who really drew the money then?” “I do not care to say.” “Does the party reside in Dalton? ’ ‘‘That, sir, does not concern you. 1 wrote the lottery people and told them that 1 did not want my name used at all. The lottery people know that I got the money and that is sufficient. Ido not mind telling you per sonally about it. I bought the ticket, No. 48,617, which drew $15,061) in the May drawing, for my wife, and after it drew the mohev 1 collected it for her, and she has it now.' “What will your wife do with it “I do no know. 1 suppose she will in vest it in some way, but it is hers and 1 HONDURAS LOTTERY COMPN Y. Drawing July 10,1894. shall leave that matter"entirely to her.” ‘ Has she been buying tickets long?” “Off and on for pethaps two years. I al ways secured them for her, sending the money direct to the company.” “How did she receive the news other good luck?” “She was delighted, of course; who wouldn’t be?” Mr. I'ruden said he did not consider buying lottery tickets worse than dealing in futures, and concluded by saving that the only thing he regretted about the matter was the probable publicity, which, being a v.ery retiring man, he did not relish.—Atlanta Constitution.
