NEW YORK, Nov. n. A gale of wind frouTthe south east, oneof the most severe that has been experienced for several years, commenced here early on Saturday morning, accompanied with rain, and continued with ve ry little intermission throughout the day We arc apprehensive that considerable damage has been done along the coast, though 110 particulars liave yet corns to our knowledge. From the Worcester Spy. November 12. MR. BURR. An article in the Alexandria Expositor, states, (as a mere ru'* mtr however,) that a warrant has issued lor the- apprehension of Colonel BURR, on a charge cf high treason ! ! !—We do not vouch for the authenticity of this rumor, hut state certain facts, for the truth of which wc do vouch : When Gen. Eaton was at Washington, last winter, he was introduced to Col. B. who was then at the seat of Government. Burr proposed to him that he shouhl join his desperate for tunes go with him tothe Mississip pi—take the rank ot a General Officer under him, as Command er in Chief — *rect the standard of rebellion against the United States —sever the Union, and establish a distinct and inde pendent Government, to be com, posed of all the States west of the Alleghany Mountains ! 1 ! Such was the general project, the minute details of which were particularly stated. Gen. Eaton was struck with horror, & stood aghast at the proposal. Hs soon afterward*, in the true spirit of j patriotism, communicated the j conversation to the President, who treated it with perfect indif ference. Gen. Eaton lias [lately] been requested to certiiy in writing the substance of the proposal made to him by Col. Burr.— This, we arc assured, lronr un questionable authority, has been actually done ; ;md upon dm, it is prohabic, the charge of High Treason is founded. We are much inclined to believe there fore, that a warrant has issued. &&&&&&& DIED, on Siturdsv last, A{ i trr Thom a* Alli>on Stem., <u apprentica at die |-*rinli ■>j; <)!ii ■<* of’ Messrs, Everiit 8< M’E'wn He was a promising youth, in cs lldi year of Ins a^e. — Bin an in flammation of the stomach pot an end to the sanguine hopes of his friends in forty-eight hours after lie was taken, leaving a frtriaurnw.- ly lesson to vouth and mankind.-—; t his young man was a native of lthode-Island, it is believed has not a telative left on earth. t? w&v NOTICE.
